Lost my old account info so i had to start this new one. I just finished a 14 team draft, 1/2 PPR 1 point per 25 return yards, 4 points for passing TDs. We start 4 WR and 2 RB, which i think is a little odd. I'd appreciate your review, WHIR as always.
I was the second pick, which I feel is too early to go WRWR like many have advocated this year. Kinda wish I had with the late RB fliers I was able to take. Also, QBs were taken like they were going out of style. 4 teams have 3 QB, and two of those teams have 2 legitimate starters (P Manning and Rivers on the same team, Brady and McNabb on the same team.) As all these QBs were going, I decided just to wait for the end, accumulate value, and make a trade later, as this is a very active league. With that in mind, here we go.
QB Trent Edwards WR Marques Colston WR Wes Welker WR Anthony Gonzalez WR Derrick Mason RB Maurice Jones-Drew RB Ryan Grant TE Owen Daniels
Bench: Larry Johnson, Jamal Lewis, Dominik Hixon (potentially starting over Mason) Jerious Norwood, Rashard Mendenhall, Josh Cribbs, Mike Walker, Mark Bradley
Thanks for the advice, will do my best for you in return, just leave a link.
Pretty good team. I have Grant as a huge sleeper this year after comign off an injury plagued last season.
10 Team, H2H, PPR Lineup: E. Manning - T. Romo W. Welker - R. Cobb - H. Nicks M. Forte - D. Sproles - CJ Spiller - S. Ridley J. Finley - K. Rudolph M. Bryant Arizona - Green Bay
Good job not getting suckered into taking a QB too early you may be able to trade for an upgrade maybe Farve if you can handle the INTs. Edwards should have a decent to good year if TO does well.
giving 1/2 PPR evens the value of RBs and WRs. Given the fact that every team has to start 4 WRs, that has to be your money position. I would DEF go WR-WR-RB-RB-WR-QB in this draft. you need to corner the market on those WRs. Once everyone realizes that they have 1 or 2 solid Recievers and your 5th guy is as good as their 3rd, they will start sending them trade offers..
Your RBs are perfect, I like the TE, QBs are de-valued with their TDs only being worth 4 points, and your WRs are still solid, 3 #1s and a #2 WR.. colston will grab points in NO's pass-happy offense, so will welker.
i still like my WR-WR option, but for someone who didn't do that, you still grabbed a great roster

I agree with your reasoning, and was prepared to do that until I landed the second pick. Maybe I'm stuck in the past, but I couldn't pass on a RB/take a WR that early even though my gut was telling me to. If I had known Grant was gonna fall to the 5th round, LJ the 9th, and Lewis the 12 of a 14 teamer, things would have been a lot different. Thanks for the advice, and i'll take a look at yours momentarily.
Thanks for responding. Excellent team in my opinion starting 4 WRs you must have the best receivers in your league. Like someone said before me, way to not get nervous and take a QB early. With the second pick you have to go MJD even if its only .5 PPR. And with all the WRs you have I'm surprised you were able to snag Grant as well. That must of been a very unconventional draft.. Nice team, and just smile to yourself as people start making you offers
So I put out feelers for a QB and one manager who has Cutler and Rivers offered me Cutler for Grant. Obviously turning that down, i was thinking of telling him he can have his choice of my bench RB for Cutler. The only two RB on his roster (dont ask how this happened) are Lynch and Brandon Jackson, so I gotta think he may be willing to deal his backup QB for a starter like LJ or Lewis (despite what we might think about these guys individually.) Anyone think this is a bad idea?
