it's 6pts for each passing TD, mind you, so basically passing TDs = rushing/receiving TDs.
at 4, Forte/Chris Johnson/Fitzgerald/etc can all be had, but considering any of them could net 14 tds at very best, wouldn't 30+ tds from the same draft position be a good roll of the dice?
the only (and I repeat ONLY) reason I'm considering this is because of the scoring setup in this league. the bonuses for rushing/receiving yardage are both @ 200 yards, which are fairly rare.
am i on crack?

The bonus for 200 passing yards makes it a "safe" pick. Also, I know from experience how fast QBs will go in a league like this, so I guess, if you can start a QB run, it may be a good idea, as the higher end RBs/WRs will be pushed back to you, so you are left with the #1 QB and, say, the RB10 or WR5 with that second pick. It's not a horrible idea, but this league's scoring definitely pushed QBs to before their normal ADP. It's up to you. I would probably go with the RB of your choice there, and then see what happens from there. Maybe you can start a QB run with a Peyton in the second round, and reap the benefit in the third and fourth round picks, or just stockpile elite RB/WR talent in the first few rounds, and then grab a guy like Schaub or McNabb etc. that will still be venerable QBs.

i play in a very similar league, except wr/rb get there bonus at 100 and qbs get there bonus at 250. and theres at least one or 2 qbs that go in the first round every year. I took peyton number 2 overall 4-5 years ago and won a championship with it that being said i havent taken a qb pre round 5-6 since because theres always talent to be had in the later rounds. Last year for example, Rodgers, Warner, Cutler and Rivers were all basically back up qbs in FF and ended up being cream of the crop. Id stay pat and snag top RB/WR talent and get a qb later. But in a league like this drafting a qb that high iis NOT crazy good luck to u

I think that the drop off from Forte to whoever you may get in the 2nd or 3rd round would be much greater than Brees to say a Rivers or Rodgers who you could probably grab in the 3rd / 4th rds. Good luck.
I couldn't agree more with the post above I am in a very similar league too and usually the top 6 or 7 scorers in the league are QB's and yes RB's are traditionally the main goal of fantasy football but not with these scoring systems. A solid QB has won championships every year in my league and if you ask me you made a great pick I would have trouble not taking Brees against almost anyone but ADP
All seriousness though, just like a previous poster said......the drop-off from say Forte (who I would grab.....will be monsterous this year) is bigger of a drop-off from a later round RB then a top QB to a QB in a later round!!!
Who knows also, you might get lucky and hardly any QB's leave in the 1st/2nd rounds then you would have a Forte and still get a nice QB or 2!
Good Luck but I would still go RB at #4 no matter what!

You are ALWAYS going to be a round behind if you take a QB at 1.4.
I don't care what the scoring system is... it's all about positional scarcity. There are very few workhorse type RBs, there are only a few elite WRs, etc. Since you have to (likely) start at least 2 or 3 of each position, the prime picks are worth their wait in gold. You can wait a few rounds and get a QB that can put up comparable (albeit probably smaller) numbers.... but you have prime starters at other positions, instead of table scraps if you go with Brees at 1.4.
In other words, you have to believe that Brees is going to be MUCH better than any other QB to justify that selection. I'm talking breaking Brady's 50 TD record confident. That's a piss-poor gamble IMHO --- not sure if you are on crack but I think you are doing your squad a HUGE disservice with a QB at 1.4.

Not if QBs are flying off the board the first two-three rounds. If this is the case, then top 10 RBs and WRs will be pushed back, making them possible to get in the second round.
In this format, I would imagine he could, depending on draft strategy, get:
Forte/Calvin Brees/Jacobs Forte/Peyton
If this is anything like my recently drafted all TDs = 6 league, the QBs will be flying off the board like no tomorrow, leaving values like Pierre, K Smith, Lynch etc. sitting there at the end of the fourth, beginning of the fifth round. Getting the consensus #1 QB is not insane in this format, based on how the first five rounds will likely play out(11 QBs were gone by 6.1 in my draft, leaving me with a great WR/RB core, but precarious QBs). There will be RBs and WRs slipping past their normal ADP, being displaced by the QBs taken early.

You are focusing on the wrong #s. As said before, the drop off after the top RB and WR is greater than with QBs. Yes, QBs score more points than RB and WR. But they ALL score more points. Meaning a QB in the 3,4,5,6th rounds will also score more points than the RB and WR.
You start 1 QB? 2 RB? 3WR? RB and WR that score points consistently drop off very quickly in a draft. QB do not drop off as quickly. Taking a QB in the 1st round means you have 5 positions that now suffer a drop off because of one bad pick.
No one who has ever picked a QB in the first round in my main money league has won the championship. We have always been 6 pts. per TD for passing also.

Good luck!
Same here -- and my main $$$ league has been together for 12 years.
