5h pick in a ppr-whir

Postby 2muchchalk » Mon Aug 24, 2009 10:07 am

I have the 5th pick in a 12 team ppr league with standard scoring-(all tds 6 pts)
qb, 2 wr, 2rb, 1 flex, te, def, k

I assume AP, Forte and MDJ are all gone? DO i go Fitz, Sjax, Turner or LT there. I am thinking i am better off getting a decent rb in the first round and going back to back wr in 2nd and third rounds?

I just think taking fitz leaves me with a crazy question mark at rb if i take a rb in round 2.

If Turner is there I'm taking him no questions asked, he will make up for the lack of catches with his running numbers. I would then look at LT, he is healthy coming into this year, has a chip on his shoulder and always has a bunch of catches. I'd then go SJax and I think that is too high to take Fitz. Good luck.

My order

AP
Turner
MJD
Forte
LT
Fitz
Dwill
SJAx

Don't be afraid to take Fits at 5 if the top 4 rb's are gone......lots of Rb's this year depth is crazy......been getting quality in round 5 (LJ, L White, W Parker) and then great depth round 9-11 (Mendenhall, F Jackson (huge Sleeper)Maroney) WR are slim....best thing I can say is try a draft online and take a WR in the first and see how you like your team...then do something crazy...take WR rd 1 and 2 and see what you think.....I think you'll like what you see.....

I may be old school, but I still think there are too many good RBs at #5 to pass up. Assuming AP, Forte, and MJD are gone I'd target either SJax or LT. At first I was leaning towards SJax but I just don't know how well he'll perform on that Rams team. LT might be a better option, although I think you'll be happy with either.

I picked 5th in a 12 team league as well. Got lucky and Forte fell to me, but I was still able to land Megatron and Roddy White with my next two picks. So you should still be able to get a good WR in Rd 2. Of course, if ALL TDs = 6 you might think about a stud QB sooner than you normally would.

Good luck, and please see mine:

Passing TDs = 4
All other TDs = 6
100 yd rushing bonus = 4
PPR
All other basic scoring

VERY strict rosters...MUST have:

2 QBs (start 1)
3 RBs (start 2)
4 WRs (start 2)
2 TEs (start 1)
2 D/STs (start 1)
2 Ks (start 1)
Flex--ANY offensive player
