Drafted yesterday. How did I Do? WHIR!

Postby Millcity_Maniac » Mon Aug 24, 2009 10:09 am

I went with Brees as my first pick becuase of the scoring. Its 6 pts for each TD TD. 25 yards per point; 5 points at 300 yards; 10 points at 400 yards. I was very surprised to see SJax there where I got him. (I had one team that was drafting awful here: viewtopic.php?t=440280&start=26) I figure Jones will fill in for Lynch until hes done with his suspension. I got a few question marks at WR, so I think that's going to be my weakness.

1. (7) Drew Brees
2. (18) Steven Jackson
3. (31) Dwayne Bowe
4. (42) Thomas Jones
5. (55) Roy Williams
6. (66) Marshawn Lynch
7. (79) Greg Olsen
8. (90) Donnie Avery
9. (103) Minnesota
10. (114) Michael Crabtree
11. (127) Willis McGahee
12. (138) Shonn Greene
13. (151) Mark Clayton
14. (162) Ryan Longwell
15. (175) Anthony Fasano

This is why I don't like taking QBs early.

Either your RBs or your WRs REALLY suffer. For you, its your WRs since you got lucky for SJax to drop to you.

You have no real WR1, a couple of low end WR2s and some fliers for your WRs.

I'd try to trade Brees and one of your WRs for A. Rodgers and a top tier WR.

Just one man's opinion, feel free to give me yours

Ya I know. I was very hesitant to grab Brees, but I did it. Not mad about it, just gotta pray that Bowe gets outta the doghouse and reconfirms himself as the #1 in KC and gets on a good rapport with Cassel. Then there is the hope that Roy Williams lives up to his potential. Also with the exit of Holt, Avery will be the #1. Looks like the ankle injury isn't hindering him too bad, as he was running at full speed on Sunday and should see action in their preseason game on Thursday.

Yeah, I got Brees at 25 overall, after grabbing Forte and Fitz. However, if you wanted him, you pretty much had to take him early cuz there is no telling when he'll go. As the other guy said, lucky Jackson dropped to ya. I think Bowe will prove to be a solid number 1 reciever. Just give it time, but they will be throwing the ball all over the place, and Bowe is the only reciever worth his weight. Still though, a lot of ifs on your team. Obviously you are pretty big on Brees, but if you could actually bait a Rodgers and Stud reciever...do it. The difference between Rodgers and Brees will be made up in the difference between stud reciever and your WR2 Good Luck!!!
