Who are the top 5 QBs?

Postby Petrocelli » Mon Aug 24, 2009 1:43 pm

I am in a 12 owner non-PPR Yahoo league that requires owners to start 2 QBs, and awards 6 points for a passing TD. I have the first pick and am taking AP. (No surprise there....)

At 24/25, I am considering a double QB pick. Here's how I rank them:

1. Brees
2. Brady
3. Manning
4. Rogers
5. Romo.

Does anyone have any problems with this ranking? What are your thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

you can knock Romo out of the top 5 imo, the rest look good in that order. I would put Rivers at 5 or Warner. I just think the Cowgirls want to dial Romo back and use the run more. He can lead a comeback from time to time, but he makes some horrible decisions early in games to require those comebacks.

I like McNabb over Rivers & Warner (and Romo, who isn't top 5 IMO)

Down on Romo as well. I would say Rivers 5. I like Warner but can he hold up? I just don't see San Diego as a passing team but Rivers was money last year and I have seen people thinking he could be 3rd, in production, behind Brady and Brees this year.

I'd put Rivers in there ahead of Romo. I'm hoping he can match his numbers from last year. Warner is a risk, but he can do bigger things ahead of Romo as well.

I think that everyones top three are the same, Brees, Peyton and Brady. Then the next group to me is Rodgers, Rivers, McNabb and Warner. After that I Rome, Ryan, Schaub and Palmer. Of course this is all with them being healthy all season, which several of the qb's are question marks for complete seasons.
With qb's being so important in your league I think a lot depends on what happens before your 2nd / 3rd draft pick. It sounds like several of them will be off the board so you may need to take two of them, and then possibly a 3rd in the 8th - 10th rds for depth and if you may possibly need to trade one. Good luck.

I can understand the arguments made for Rivers being the no. 5 pick.

I can't, however, understand why everyone is so high on warner. Would you really pick a 38 year old QB over Romo.

As for McNabb, He had a good season last year, but he is also a little bit old, and when you look at his per game numbers last year versus Romo's, i think Romo had a betetr season.

Am I missing something here?
