I'm not sure how many of each position you start, and you never know what might fall to you at 10 (by the way, is your second round pick really fourth, or is it third?). However, if I were you I would try to get a combination of a RB and a WR with those two picks. I disagree that there is no value at RB at 1.10. I love Gore or Slaton there, but if you don't see the value in those players there, then I would select the best available WR and hope that one of those guys falls back to you after the turn. If neither of them makes it back, then I would be very excited to land Calvin. Take the picks who you feel are going to score big points for you, period. These are not the picks that will win the draft for you. You either like the guy, or you don't.
i am still stumped. if I take WR/WR or QB/WR, then i'll be left with the likes of LJ, thomas jones as my #1 rb. i might have to go RB/WR, but always the bottom half of round 1 of RB's don't pan out
any insight as i have not experience draft at this position
Grab Gore or Slaton like bake said with your first pick and then go after one of the elite WRs that's left at 2.3, one of the top 5 is likely to fall to you at that position. That way you're solid right off the bat at 2 positions.
thanks for the replies, but i still need some more insite. i've done some mocks, and still stuck on who to target in round 3-4 which is even more important than round 1-2. please help!!!
i would target Gore in the first round In the second round I would target Moss or Brady In the third Aaron Rodgers (if you took Moss) or Ryan Grant In the fourth go after Wes Welker (or somebody similar)
at 10 I would try to grab Fitz, Andre J, Megatron or Moss... unless a stud RB somehow falls into your lap. 2nd Round, a best available RB - Gore if he's there. Coming back, if you have your stud WR and #1 RB... then if one of the big 3 QBs are there (probably not) go for it, otherwise, best available WR/RBs. I like Rogers but you can probably get a McNabb or Romo in 5th-6th rounds - I prefer to grab my #2 WR/RB if one of the Big 3 Qbs aren't there.
I would go RB-WR or WR-RB if I were you. In the first I would target Gore or Slaton unless the owners ahead of you draft WRs early and those two may fall to you in the 2nd. In the 2nd I would target Andre Johnson or Randy Moss, you may have two flip flop whether you pick the WR or RB first depending on the flow the first round. In the 3rd definitely target Ronnie Brown, Grant, or K Smith In the 4th take the best available Receiver or the QB if you would like Rivers/Rodgers over the WR.
