Fitz, Jackson, or a Johnson?

Postby whiteshark17 » Mon Aug 24, 2009 11:28 pm

I have the 6th pick in a 1/2 point PPR and was all set on picking Fitz. As a Cards fan though 2 things bug me: 1) I hate having Cards because then I actually get upset when my team scores a TD if it wasn't my fantasy player. 2) Half of Fitz's regular season TD's last year came with Boldin out an Warner has looked sloppy in preseason. Am I overthinking this or should I opt for Stephen Jackson, Andre Johnson or Calvin Johnson?

You know what will suck even more? If you take someone else and you watch Fitz score and he is not on your team.

i would take jackson over fitz and AJ easily. jackson will grab 60 balls this yr for the PPR also if he's healthy all 16 games should rush for 1400, grab maybe 600 recieving.. with about 10 TDs. all about health with sjax tho

You're overthinking it. Take Fitz. There are enough passes in 'Zona for both Boldin and Fitz (but I guess I don't have to tell you that). SJax is a possibility, but he's very inconsistant. One game he'll get you 15+ pts and the next he'll get 5. Also, it's hard to take a RB from a bad team. The Rams will be playing from behind in a lot of games this season, limiting his rushes and possible td's. AJ is on the same level as Fitz, but Schaub just can't stay healthy for a full season and Houstons backup qb is Dan Orlovsky.

In FF, go with your gut and you'll be able to sleep better at night. Take Fitz.

Thanks for the help with mine.

To me this is the problem picking in the 5-8 area. I hate having to be the one to decide between LT, SJax, Fitz, Johnson's and depending on the league Brees. But based on the choices you gave, I would take Fitzgerald too. I have been avoiding SJax like the plague and its a much safer pick to go with the best WR.

What about LT at that spot? If not I think that you have to take S-Jax, 6 is too early for a WR.

Help?

personally i would take andre there....in my PPR, i got him with the 5th and i have hands down the best team in the league...in ppr you can afford to wait on a RB, you need a top tier WR, because as it gets back to you i guarantee fitz, johnsons and moss will be gone---none of the other WRs available are wortht a mid second round pick...i say take fitz or johnson ( i would say andre hands down---fitz has alot of quality receiving threats on his team, warner is getting old-this could very well be the season he loses it)--apart from injury, there is little gamble with andre---hes the top receiving threat on his team by far-but he does have walter and daniels to draw some coverage away from him...if him and schaub stay healthy i guarantee hell be the top fantasy player in the league

think of it this way--last year, Fitz had the absolute best case senario--his quarterback was running on all cylinders, he got the majority of the throws, they hardly ran the ball....ARI could very well decide to run the ball now that warner is losing gas-he could elect to dump it to an RB...and what id be afraid of is, with fitz drawing the top coverage (possibly doubled most of the game) and boldin drawing good coverage--whos left to cover breaston---if i were the QB there, i would make the easy throws to breaston all day---they wouldnt be able to pay attention to the run AND cover 2 of the best WRs in the game AND the slot---they would have to give up one, and which is the lowest risk for giving up a big play-the slot

now andre you could very well expect similar if not better numbers...his QB was out for 5 games, and he still led the league in receptions and yards..also, now that slaton has emerged as a playmaker, the run has to be wellcover too..
andre has little risk involved with him, with an aging QB, i would be wary of wasting a first rounder on fitz---if warner goes down (or even has the crappy end to his season like favre did last year, your season is over---dont expect leinart to be able to hit long ball to fitz)

keep in mind--def. take a WR in your spot-not jackson....espn's ppr rankings have andre number 3 overall--after fitz and mjd

i say fitz or andre--i would highly recommend andre tho
