Drop Wells for Coffee??? WHIR

Postby Foolio » Tue Aug 25, 2009 12:44 pm

Should I drop injured ankle Wells and pick up Geln Coffee as my #4 RB. Coffee has looked really great this preseason and if Gore got injured I think Coffee would shine.. What do you think??

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance!

I don't think that would be wise. Coffee has looked great, but he's most certainly the backup. His only value is upon an injury to Gore. Is Gore on your squad? If so, then he is very valuable. Is there anyone else you could drop? Seems like your team is pretty stacked if Wells is your best option to drop.

This thread is funny.
Pre-season and training camps get people thinking wayyyy too much.
Wells was a first round pick on a good team. Sure he isn't the most durable, but he is 10x better then Coffee

Danny, you're correct, I do think wayyy too much..lol

As for the other reply, no I don't have Gore on my team.. My RB's are CJ4.24, Lendale White, Darren McFadden, and Beanie Wells.. We can only start 2 RB's so I'm just looking for good backups.. Wells would be the only one I'd be willing to part with.. Coffee just looks REALLY good.. I hear what you're saying though..

I also saw Coffee and was very impressed. I agree that some people read too much into preseason performance, but he reminds me of when I picked up Mike Anderson after he dominated the preseason as the #2 guy. I took a late round flier on him and he ended up in a very rewarding time share.

That said, Wells still has much more "perceived" value than Coffee. You could try trading him to fill out another position. Personally I would wait. Coffee could be on the WW all season unless Gore gets hurt.

Now I read that Singletary is saying he wants to give Coffee about 15 attempts per game, basically about 40% of the rushing load...

Should I maybe think harder about dropping Wells for Coffee?? Starting to sound better..

What should I do??????? Ughhhhh

What's up Foolio! Do you have a link about Singletary's comment? I am very interested as 15 touches per game equates to 240 on the season which is very fantasy worthy. All of the reports I have read is that Singletary wants to feed Gore the ball as he is the center of their offense and most talented player. Coffee was not mentioned anywhere in those comments.

Personally, I would keep Wells. He is forecast to be the starter if he can get healthy and will have much more value than coffee, unless what you say is true. Please provide a link if you have one.

Good luck!

I still wouldn't drop Coffee. The good thing about Wells is that he has the LEGIT potential of being the #1 in AZ. No matter what, barring an injury, Coffee will always be #2 in SF.

Help?
