1/2 PPR League, 6pts all TDs, other scoring normal. This is an 11 team league.
My Team QB Hass (Garrard) RB LT, Thomas (K Smith, R Bush, McCoy, Ward) WR Moss, AGon, B Edwards (Hester) TE Daniels
I give P Thomas or K Smith plus Edwards, Ward and Garrard for Romo, A Johnson, Wells
I feel I really upgrade at the positions I'm hurting at, QB and WR, except I lose a lot of depth if there is an injury to any of my starters - but I end up with my top 2 WRs, finally a decent QB, and still my starting RBs are solid.
Romo (Hass) LT, either Thomas or Smith - whichever i don't trade (McCoy, Wells, R Bush) Moss, AJ, AGon (Hester) Daniels
Give up Thomas, K.smith will be splitting with virtually no one and get quite a few receptions (just watching the preseason alone, Linehan loves to run the screen), Thomas though on a better team will have Bush to compete with (who you have - Not a big fan of being put in the position of having to start 2 backs from the same team)
I was thinking the same thing myself, but I assumed it was the homer in me talking (Lions fan).
KSmith - the only back, but on a bad team with a horrible offensive line. Although they plan on being committed to the run this year, being down big early on may cause them to rethink that strategy.
Thomas - shares touches with Bush, but Bush is extremely fragile. When he was the only back last year, he excelled, and NO will be in the redzone a lot this year. However, that offense spreads the ball a bit much.
I'm torn.
But aside from that, should I do the trade regardless of which one I'd include?
I'd trade Smith long before Thomas. Smith's got the talent (showed it end of last year) but not the O-line. Plus, the Saints will not play from behind all year like the Lions, so Pierre should get alot of garbage points. Bush is not going to cut into Pierre's carries very much at all, I think the Saints have finally figured out that Bush is he is, which is not a running back. He is a reciever (in a RBs jersey albeit) and a return specialist. Oh yeah, and constantly injured.
As for PPR, Pierre caught alot more passes than people realize at the end of last season when he "started." From week 10 to week 16, he caught 27 passes for 244yds and 3tds. That's very Jones-Drew-esque. Don't give that away.
Hmm, that's 1 for each. I assume that's really what I can expect with this question. In regards to Pierre, I'm afraid he won't be as prolific in the passing game unless Bush is out. Although he was a main cog at the end of the year, it was without Bush in the lineup.
