New Keeper League, How'd I do? WHIR

Postby eagle32a » Tue Aug 25, 2009 7:01 pm

I just finished a draft and was hoping to get some feedback. We just started a brand new keeper league, 10 teams, fairly standard PPR scoring. We start QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, W/R, TE, K, D/ST. I need to drop someone for a kicker later, but figured I'd wait 'til close to the season and see how some of my sleeper types are looking. Anyway, here's the roster. Any thoughts/advice would be great!

Starters:
QB - Aaron Rodgers
WR - Calvin Johnson
WR - Anthony Gonzalez
WR - Lee Evans
RB - Matt Forte
RB - Frank Gore
W/R - Kevin Smith
TE - Greg Olsen
K - None yet (just didn't feel like wasting a pick on one)
DEF - Green Bay (might change, though, as several good options are still available)

Bench:
QB - Donovan McNabb
RB - Knowshon Moreno
RB - LeSean McCoy
WR - Donnie Avery
WR - Josh Morgan
WR - Earl Bennett

Any thoughts?

I like the team, you have good depth at pretty much every position. I like McCoy because Westbrook probably will miss a game or two.

Please help with mine:

Nice team. I like the young RB's on your bench but they are still unproven rookies until they get some regular season action. Im sure both will turn out to be good players but I need to see more of them before I rely on just Moreno & McCoy as my back-ups. Since you have 2 good QB's, maybe you can trade McNabb for another good RB with some NFL experience. At WR, I would hold on to Bennett. I think he will become Cutlers favorite target. Tough call for me between Avery & Morgan. They both have great running backs who will be the focal points of their offenses. Morgan dissapointed last season but maybe this year he will step up his game, plus Bruce was Hills favorite target last season. Avery doesnt have Holt this year which is both good and bad. Avery is the #1 WR now but he will draw more coverage plus I think the Rams are still going to be awful, which on the other hand means they will be throwing more. I would let the final preseason games play out then drop Avery or Morgan to pick up a kicker.
