who do I go with at the number 3 spot in a keeper? WHIR

Postby wyld stallions » Wed Aug 26, 2009 12:45 pm

Ok, the keepers are all in and I have the number three spot in the draft. I have been offered the number 5 and 20 spot for the 3 and 27 or the 12 and 13th pick for the 5 and 27 spot. There is some great talent on the board (at least 5 first rounders) so I was thinking the 5 spot would not be bad to drop to. I may be able to squeeze a later round pick out of him as well like a 8 or 9 round pick. He is crazy for LT and wants him bad.

I was just told Turner and DeAngelo will prob. go 1 and 2 (I think andre will be picked first).

Available
RB:
LT, Turner, DeAngelo, Portis, MBIII, P Thomas, Grant, Brown, Bush, Moreno...etc.

WR:
Andre, Moss, Calvin, Smith, Wayne, White, Jennings, Colston, Bowe, Boldin, Marshall, Welker, Housh, TO, Braylon, Roy Williams...etc.

If I drop to the 5th spot I get one of LT, DeAngelo, Turner, Moss, Andre, Calvin. I actually would rather have whoever is left anyway since it is so hard to decide on who to take. Plus I am moving from 27 to 20 and can select another solid player. This being a keeper league at 27 you start to guess on guys and take some gambles at 20 you can get a great player.

What do you think, am I crazy? What should I do?

Who did you keep?(Others keep) That will help make it an easier choice. Going on what you gave I would assume LT, Turner, and probably 2 recievers will be gone. Leaving you Williams and Moss/Calvin. If you kept some good RBs then you could switch and be fine, if not you probably want to keep it and grab Turner.

I like 5 and 20, especially with the guys that are on the board. You're still going to get a stud with that first pick and like you already mentioned, 20 is obviously better than 27. You're only giving up 2 spots with your first pick and it's possible you'd take the same guy anyway. I don't think you can lose with this one.

If he's really willing to throw in another late rounder then definitely do it.

I am sorry, I kept AP and Hightower. We are allowed 1 reg. keeper and 1 rookie keeper. If I move to the 5 spot. Turner, DeAngelo, LT will for sure be gone.

I say do it. You still get a top 5 guy, plus an earlier pick later when there is a bigger drop-off in the talent.

Yeah the 7 spot is stacked. He had to let go of Turner too. He selected some good players in the mid rounds. The sad thing is he didnt win the league.

Should I try to get the 5 spot to trade a 8th round pick for a 9th as well or no?? He picks at the turn so I would just be bumping myself a few spots. Or should I try to get him to through in McFadden for a pick. He hates him.

It was his only rookie on his team and it only costs your last round pick
