I have Sproles...should I pursue LT?

Postby Crapjacket » Wed Aug 26, 2009 8:53 pm

Roster and leage rules below.

I have plenty of money to spend in my keeper auction...$54 for 5 spots. I will need to spend approx $18-20 to get an elite QB1. So assuming I can get a kicker, defense, and reserve WR for $1 each or so...that leaves around $30 for the RB position.

Seeing as how I have Sproles...should I target LT and look to handcuff the San Diego backfield? He will likely cost $30 or more and there are a few other RB options available as free agents right now (including Turner, MJD, SJAX, Larry Johnson, and McFadden to name a few).

Would you spend the money on LT?

Auction/Keeper
14 roster spots
4 year max contract length
$100 auction cap (must have at least $1 for each vacant roster spot for draft day, but can exceed cap through the season)

QB1 vacant
QB2 Garrard $2
RB1 Deangelo Williams $13
RB2 Jonathan Stewart $15
RB3 Darren Sproles $2
RB4 vacant
WR1 Greg Jennings $5
WR2 Vincent Jackson $2
WR3 DeSean Jackson $4
WR4 vacant
TE1 Dustin Keller $2
K vacant
DST vacant
Reserve 1 vacant

i would target turner or MJD before LT. having sproles doesn't change the fact that LT isn't a better RB than either of those guys. the handcuff is nice, but there will be other filler/flier players in the draft and on the waiver wire you can use for backups.
