What trade makes sense ?

Postby latinyank » Wed Aug 26, 2009 11:12 pm

Okay I have been presented with a few options to upgrade my team, but I dont know which one makes more sense. I will list my team as I drafted them and then below it I will list the trade details that have been offered / presented to me.

1) L.T.
2) T.O.
3) B. Westbrook
4) Kurt Warner
5) J. Norwood
6) M. Lynch
7) Nate Washington
8) Davey Henderson
9) Matt Ryan
10) Antonio bryant
11) Tony Scheffler
12) Pats Def
13) Ricky Williams
14) John Carney

Trade Offers

1st )

M. Turner for LT and Warner

2nd)

Randy Moss and Wes Welker for M. Lynch, matt ryan, Westbrook and A. Bryant

Which one makes sense ? 1st one, 2nd one , both or neither ?

Thanks

IMO i def wouldnt do the 1st one
the second one u leave urself with some weak RBs...even tho ur WRs could be improved idk if i would want 2 WRs from the same team, even tho they are both good..is it PPR b/c welker is a god if so...i personally wouldnt but its hard to say without knowing how many players start and what not

Honestly I wouldn't do either. I like your team as it stands and I don't think either option improves your team.

Honestly, I wouldn't do either.

First trade:
Warner is injury prone so his health is a big risk and Ryan is a great back up to keep around. If Warner stays healthy, Ryan's trade value could potentially be much higher after a few weeks if he performs up to his expectations. Turner loses some of his red zone scoring I think with Tony Gonzalez in town. And LT was injured almost all of last year and still produced respectable numbers.

Second trade:
If you're in a PPR league, I'd do this trade. If not, I would not. I hate having 2 WR's from one team in my starting line up, but with Brady healthy, it's a tough call. Wes Welker in a PPR league is almost a #1 WR. Westbrook is another injury prone guy which makes not doing it risky.

Overall, I'd feel better about the doing the second trade than I would the 1st. There's really no tremendous upside to your first deal where the second trade may make your team a little "safer".

I wouldn't do either trade.

The first trade is terrible. LT and Turner are both first round picks and I'd rather take LT. There's no reason to include a player like Warner in the deal.

The second trade could be tempting except it leaves you extremely weak at RB. I'd probably counter that trade with Westbrook/TO/Ryan for Moss/Welker. You'd get rid of two risky, aging players and a QB I think is currently overvalued for the potential #1 WR and a very good WR2. If the other team needs the QB, I think it could be very tempting. The only thing I wouldn't like about it is giving up a great backup QB when Warner is your starter.
