Should I keep Crabtree in a 12 team league? WHIR

Postby JaysFan » Thu Aug 27, 2009 9:13 am

Our league is a 12 team 2 QB REDRAFT league. I picked Crabtree in the 17th round as my #6 WR at the time (I've since traded Antonio Bryant so he's now my #5 WR). We start 2 QB, 2 RB and 4 WR as well as a TE and 2 W/R/T slots. I figured it was a savvy pick since he's a uber-talented WR and at the very least could be great trade bait. Anyways, as everyone knows now, Crabtree apparently thinks he's already the next Jerry Rice and is demanding stupid money and hasn't practiced. It's looking like he may not make an impact until best case week 4 or 5.

Is he worth hanging onto or should I dump him and try and add some more RB depth (regardless that's what I'm doing) on waivers?

I'm going to try and grab Favre, Coffee, Charles, Choice and James Davis while dropping Sage for Favre, and then I would also like to drop Ernie Sims for one of the other guys. Dropping Crabtree would give me more flexibility to pick up another backup rb who could start but I'm just not sure I could bear to see Crabtree come up big on somebody elses squad.

HELP ME OUT HERE FOLKS!!! WHIR

I would drop Crabtree, but don't you need another WR if you start 4 WRs? I would think you would need the WR depth. Anyway, in such a big league I wouldn't even know who to tell you to look for on waivers, but if Michael Jenkins or Steve Smith is available, they are both worth a shot. Camarillo from MIA is worth a look, too and others are suggesting Troy Williamson from JAX is worth a flier (but I'll let you do your own research on that). Here's a thread on Williamson:

sorry dude I just updated the question and added my roster I forgot to press the button. He is my #5 WR behind Jennings, Boldin, Ocho Cinco and Anthony Gonzalez. I could put Donald Brown and Michael Bush at the flex spots.

if its not a dynasty no point in hanging onto to him. Personally i think even if he was playing it would be a minimal impact. Rookie WRs tend to struggle..
