Help me w/ the 2nd pick WHIR

Postby Bomb Squad » Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:24 am

I have the second pick in my 10 team draft Sunday night. My league tends to favor QB's as ALL players are given 6 points for TD's. We get to keep one player from last years team. I am keeping A. Peterson. With that said, I am almost certain the first pick will be L. Tomlinson. Now it is my pick and I have narrowd down my choice to one of the 3 guys:

P. Manning: I need a QB for this QB favored league, and Brady, Brees and Romo have all been retained by other teams. If I don't take one here, he will surely be gone by the time it gets back to me in round 2. He seems sure to throw 30 TD's. Downside: I may be able to get Rivers in Rd 2 or 3 if I wait and perhaps the Manning pick would not be on of value.

D. Williams: He seems to be highly regarded by the Guru. This would give me 2 #1 Rb's. Downside: He is in a RB by Committee. Also, he has a very tough schedule, and I don't think he duplicates last years stats.

A. Johnson: Probably the best WR. Moss and Fitz have been retained by other teams in my league. Downside: I could probably grab a guy like A. Boldin or M. Colston in the 2nd round who may have just as good numbers and be abetter value pick.

I am leaning toward Manning, but I need your guys help. Thanks in advance.

All three would be great picks.

In a PPR league I take AJ, otherwise I take PM.

Thanks for the hand

Heres my take
Manning would b a great call, but if you think that Rivers would be available in the following round then I beleive that so would Rodgers. In either case the difference between either would be that Bad

Same thing with A.Johnson compared to Boldin/Colston/Wayne/Jennings.

But if you have a chance at 2 top RB ina 10 team league then you gotta grab him

Deangelo williams i would take. Last year hes in a committe and still produce great numbers. This year stewarts injured and theyre already planning to use williams even more than last year, so dont let the committee bother u, unless its a 3rb committee, just my 2 cents

if your league has 6pts TD for QBs ya gotta go with Brady or Brees, take your pick both will pass for 40+ TDs. I dont know about PM, he has to slow down at some point no?

Brees and Brady are gone. They have been retained by there owners. PM is in his 11th season, and by comparison, Dan Marino threw 30 TD's in as many seasons w/ a worse team. Any more advice?

There is too much RB talent later in the draft to go for Williams at 1. I say grab your definite WR1 in Andre Johnson and pick Aaron Rodgers in round 2. Rivers would be my second choice if he is available. I am not high on Manning. Rodgers looks like the next big gun-slinger. He is accurate and throws for TDs. I really wish I was able to nab him in my draft, but I got Rivers instead.
