Trade the First Pick? WHIR

Postby inthecards » Thu Aug 27, 2009 10:30 pm

Non keeper 12 team standard scoring league (no PPR). Have the first pick and have interest from #12. Should I trade my first and seventh for his first and third?

Trying to decide if it's worth moving down to get pick 12, 24, 25, 36, 48, 49.

i would. the difference between 1 and 12 at the end of the season in the draft will be questionable. but with an extra early pick, you should secure some really good players.

It is definitely tempting because at 12 you will get a decent player still, and two decent players in third round vs. the marginal guy at 7th, but here is the reason why I wouldn't do it: You would get 12 and then have to wait until 24, which means your first two picks don't rank in top 10, he gets 1st and 13th pick. He gets the stud of the draft and a great #2 pick, there is a reason why the first pick then has to snake around to the end of the 2nd round and not first pick again in the 2nd round. Would you rather be him: 1st, 13th, & 37 or you 12, 24, 25, 36. I would take the first pick in the draft, and not make the deal.
