Rodgers for Schaub and Grant?

Postby DaBigBoog » Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:43 pm

Ok fellas, long time reader first time poster. Here's the scoop. Another owner in an 8 team league has offered me Matt Schaub and Ryan Grant for Aaron Rodgers. At first glance, I didn't think I'd do the deal. Upon further contemplation, I don't like my RB's nearly as much as when we drafted several weeks ago. My roster is:

QB: Rodgers, Palmer
WR: C. Johnson, R. White, V. Jackson, D. Mason
RB: MJD, Gore, L. Johnson, R. Bush, J. Stewart, Beanie, Cedric Benson
TE: Carlson D/ST: Minnesota K: Kaeding

We start 1 QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 Flex. I figure in an 8 team league, quality over quantity is as important as ever (let's face it, everyone but the morons has decent depth). And my gut tells me to stick with Aaron Rodgers and a combination of RB's at the flex spot then a Schaub/Palmer platoon with Ryan Grant entrenched in the flex spot. Any thoughts? Am I off base on this one?
;-D .....I made that face cuz i think it looks awesome. Ok now I'm done.

What's the scoring system? 6 points/TD gives Rodgers a huge advantage but you do have a great backup. I actually like Reggie Bush in the flex spot somewhat but considering injuries and the fact that Jonathan Stewart is already injured you have to look at this trade. I don't like the lack of depth at WR but your starting 3 are awesome...Rodgers is just too good to give up but it looks like Grant should have a huge year...I'd try to trade Palmer and Bush for an upgrade at RB to put in your flex spot. I just know I'd be kicking myself if Rodgers ends up matching anything close to what he did last season.

Id say do it, you have palmer there to help should schaub get hurt. Then you can trade some of your RB depth.

Help? http://www.fantasyfootballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=441896

Value wise i definantly like the trade for you. But as far as need based, i think you'd be better off switched out Grant for a WR. Your RB depth is pretty solid but ur WRs are a tad weak. I like Grant for this year but dont know if hes really THAT much of an upgrade at ur #3 RB, which is what he will prob be for u
