Brandon Marshall situation

Postby cloudwasher » Fri Aug 28, 2009 12:48 pm

Ok, so I drafted Brandon Marshall in the 7th round of my draft (figured he'd be worth the risk) but things look to be going down hill really quickly there. The Broncos suspended him the remainder of the preseason for insubordination, he's been battling a hamstring injury and coming off hip surgery, and he admitted to reporters a few days back that he isnt anywhere close to learning the new offense. I know the suspension isnt for the regular season, but this is too much drama for my blood so I think its time to get another backup WR, just in case.

start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DEF

My Roster:

QBs: Rodgers, Schaub
RBs: Forte, Slaton, Marshawn Lynch, Kevin Smith, Lesean McCoy, Ray Rice
WRs: Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Anthony Gonzalez, Lance Moore
TEs: Daniel Owens
K: Nick Folk
Def: Minnesota

Free Agent WRs:
Donnie Avery
Tedd Ginn Jr.
Deion Branch
Nate Burleson
Kevin Curtis
Mark Clayton
Miles Austin

Who is the best among these free agents? And who should I drop? I'm thinking about dropping McCoy for Avery. Maybe I should try to trade some of my RB depth for a WR instead. Who appears most tradeable on my roster? If I go that route, I was thinking Kevin Smith.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I like Avery and Ginn, Personally I would go with Ginn I think he may have a breakout year this year. As far as marshall you may want to see if you can still trade him for decent value to someone who isn't up to date on his latest shenanigans. :-b From what I can tell he doesn't want to be a bronco anymore and the only way he'll be a fantasy factor this year is if he gets traded.

Since your deep at rb's either trade one or package one to get a wr from someone else.

Or pick up Avery and Austin. Williams injury was a scare and this could be austins chance to push crayton out (assuming williams is just fine).
