Not the Best Ever, But How Good is it?

Postby Lsquad » Fri Aug 28, 2009 8:53 pm

I just finished my first ever auction draft. I think it went well, I found some fine values, but took my share of risks. How do you see this team finishing? Is it a winner? Its a ten team h2h league.

Team Risk/Reward:

QB: P. Manning ($26)
RB: S. Jackson ($54)
RB: Westbrook ($24)
RB/WR: K. Smith ($23)
WR: Welker ($18)
WR: Marshall ($13)
TE: Pettigrew ($1) [waiver claim for Keller pending]
K: Gostkowski ($2)
D/ST: Fins ($1)

Bench: Palmer (trade, Culter), Parker ($7), Stewart ($4), F.Jones ($3), B. Edwards ($11), L.Evans ($7), Chambers (FA, Crosby)

Thanks for help on mine.

I don't know anything about auction drafts but as far as the quality of your players:

I hate SJAX and Westbrook to be honest. SJAX is on such a bad team. It doesn't matter that he is extremely talented or that he will get all the carries. It's the same situation as last year. As for Westbrook - injuries and declining stats. I like Smith, but at the same price as Westbrook, was Grant available.
Welker is great in PPR.
Marshall has a ton of problems, but I guess you got him cheap.
Good luck!

Good team, you should be fine. Westbrook/Jackson/Manning is a good core, Welker is solid (especially if you're in a PPR league) and Marshall will be good if he can stay out of trouble. Not sure about the Miami defense, I originally drafted them but after seeing how good the Pats looked last night I'm bailing on them in favor of Green Bay (a lot easier division, 2 games vs. Detroit and Minnesota... projected at about 30+ points higher for the season than the Fins)

Ignoring auction value, there's no reason why Westbrook and Jackson should cause you concern.

I can't tell you much about the dollar values since I've never played an auction league, but you definitely have a good foundation for a successful season.
