5th pick or 10th pick?? WHIR

Postby saemick » Sat Aug 29, 2009 9:32 am

I have my draft in a few hours. I currently have the 5th pick, but may be able to trade for the 10th pick. This would take over all draft picks throughout the whole draft...not just round 1.

Should I swap mt 5th pick for his 10th??

I'm leaning toward yes as I could get 2 top-tier players with the 2.03 as opposed to what's left at 2.08...

should i do this?

please help

thanks for looking at mine...with your situation, i think i'd stay put. i like the guys available in the top 5 much better than what will be available at 10. you have to think their is a possibility of someone like D. williams or mjd falling to you or even the 1st QB, who imo is drew brees. i'd much rather have that than taking a chance with the 1st WR or a more injury prone back like LT, or brandon jacobs. good luck!

First off, thanks for your input.

Next, you did say in my thread that the 4th pick is the money pick this season. I agree that the dropoff from 4th to 5th is a tad bigger than we'd like. As the previous poster said, stay put IF you're planning to go RB. However, I'd personally make the trade and go WR-WR and possibly end up with moss and Andre starting for you. I wouldve made that trade had my pick been one lower. Thanks again for your help.

Happy drafting!

This isn't a bad idea if it's a ppr but I with Jonathan Stewart being hurt I think it's possible for DeAnglo to keep doing what he does. You could still possibly get AJ, Calvin, Jennings etc in the second. I prefer DeAngelo and Calvin over Moss and AJ to start in a 12 teamer. If you trade down it should be to go WR QB to get Moss and Brady. Man they looked great on Friday!

Trading down is a good idea, but only if you get additional value in your picks (compared to what you give up). I assume your draft is a snaking format. If so, maybe try to trade down to a the #10, if it will give you a bigger boost later. For example, you could do your 1st and 3rd rounder for their 1st and 2nd rounder. Or maybe your #1, #2, and #4 for their #1, #2, and #4. That would move you up towards the top of rounds 2 and 4, but you still would get the WR you like, late in the 1st round.

Let us know what you decide, and how it works out for you!
