5th pick in a new keeper. WHIR

Postby padrino990_200 » Sun Aug 30, 2009 10:23 am

OK so we are starting up a new 10-team keeper league. from this year on it will be keep up to 3 players losing the round pick you draft them in. Its a ESPN-standard ppr league. I have the 5th pick and i'm guessing AP, Turner, MJD, Forte will be off the board. if any of them drop to me i'm taking them. What do you guys think is my best bet? I'm liking Chris Johnson myself as I'm not a huge fan of Williams. or should i roll the dice with steven jackson or LT?

Thanks,

That's a large dice to roll with LT man. He is looking aged, and didn't have a great year last year. I like Chris Johnson myself it you can't get the 4 your listed. Jackson, I like him the problem with him is the O-line. That team needs to show me something, and they haven't this preseason as of yet.
My team:
12 team league
0 Keepers

QB: Romo, Hasselbeck
RB: R. Bush, Westbrook, Buckhalter, P. Thomas, Hightower
WR: R. Moss, Berrian, Hixon, N. Washington, Ginn Jr.
K: Prater
DST: Baltimore, Tampa Bay

Pesonally, I'd go Williams. With Stewart struggling with injuries YET AGAIN, DWill could be primed for another big year.

Help here?

I would take CJ4.24 myself. Hes a star in the making. Im also not a fan of Williams. Not of his game he just made me lose a thousand dollars on one play last year. I got lucky in one league i got MJD at 4. I think it should go something like this

AD
MJD
Turner
Forte
Deangelo, Gore, and CJ4.24 are all just about tied IMO.

Another vote for CJ here. I expect White to be moved out of the picture in the future, making CJ the man in Ten.

I would take Johnson. Stewart may be dinged up a bit, but he is still there and will eventually take from DW's carries. Johnson is the guy in his offense. Thats my opinion. Good luck!

I own Johnson, and I can't put my finger on it, but I just have a bad feeling about him. Not that he'll be a complete bust, but just that he won't live up to all of the hype. I could easily see him putting up 1200 total yards and 6-8 TDs this year, which is okay, but people are talking like he's going to be setting records. Personally, I'd go with Gore or SJax over him, unless one of the other 4 falls.

Plz take a look http://www.fantasyfootballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=442312

Man, I have the 5th pick as well in our draft. I have been researching everyone after the top 4 which I agree with. I'm a little biased but if it's a PPR, I would go with Forte or MJD given the chance. Since they may not be there, DWilliams seems to be best bet. CJ still shares carries and the vulture Fatboy White gets the goal line stuff. LT is getting old, Sproles is ready for the prime time and San Diego is tired of LT's cry baby attitude of "give me the ball". SJax screwed me last year and the only thing the Rams did was lose their best WR, one of their best OT's and bring in a bunch of rookie lineman who will make plenty of mistakes. I also see every team putting 8, maybe 9 in the box against St. Louis which means he is screwed again.

Thinking about Fitz or Moss at this point with the #5 pick. Think about this way, how much of a difference is there between a #5 pick RB and a #16 pick RB, which is what you'll get in a 10 team draft.
