Standard non-ppr league, start 2 RBs and 3 WRs (no flex). I have MJD, CJ3, and Westy at RB, which is one of the best RB groups in the league (14 teamer). However, my WRs are mediocre at best. I'm not counting on a ton out of TO in Buffalo, Driver is about 100 yrs. old, Gage could be a decent #3 but that's about it, and the rest are prospects. Crabtree holding out really blows, not that I was counting on much this year from him, but this could set his entire career back.
Pretty tough to deal in this league- since there are so many teams, not many have an excess at any position. An offer I have is Boldin and LJ for CJ3, Driver, and Bennett. I think he's getting the better end of the deal, but it would help my starting line-up as well- I could still start MJD and Westy (and have LJ as a #3), but replace Driver with Boldin. The same owner has Wayne, I could get him as well. I hate seeing a stud RB on my bench while my WRs put up 15 points combined every week.
I'm only considering it because I've pretty much exhausted all trade routes in this league and this is the only decent proposal I have. I'm not 100% sold on CJ3, I think he could drop down to 6-8 TDs this year. It's a keeper league, so if CJ3 eventually gets the goal lines he could be huge, but I'm trying to sell high on him (I wouldn't be doing so in this deal, but I would be getting a legit WR). The risk would be, I'd be relying on Westy to stay healthy and/or LJ to be good again. Or, I could stay put, and hope someone like Morgan, Gage, Crabtree, Bennett, etc. puts up #2 FF WR numbers, but not holding my breath.
Thoughts? Leave a link...
14 Teams, each keep 14 players QB: P. Manning, Schaub RB: MJD, Westy, C. Johnson, A. Bradshaw, J. Ringer WR: TO, Driver, J. Gage, Crabtree, J. Morgan, K. Curtis, E. Bennett, M. Sims-Walker TE: Witten, M. Lewis K: Gostkowski, J. Brown D/ST: Tenn, NE
Hmmm, I dont really envy your situation here. My thought is that you definitely need to have better WR's. Boldin or wayne would solve that issue for you. I think CJ3 is definitely the expendiable one as well, unless you want to sorta sell high on westbrook... the writing is more than on the wall for him, injury problems, age, and a rookie RB that should chip away at his touches; who knows how relvant westy will be next year? (I only say this b/c you are in a keeper league). If i were you i would try to trade westbrook in some sort of deal to upgrade your WR, if you could get boldin that would be my pick b/c next year he may be the number 1 wideout on some other team.
If you don't care about the future, then deal CJ. I think Westy will be fine this year, and trading CJ for a WR would be good for you. If you also want to take care of the future, though, deal Westbrook. The curtain's closing on him.
I personally would hang onto CJ in a keeper and try to deal Westbrook for WR help. If you have tried that and nothing else is on the table then you could consider it. I am just not too sure about Westy this year and the same for LJ. They both could end up being fine and you look great, but if it was me I would stick with CJ for now and when someone becomes desperate for RB help deal Westy for one. Good luck!
I should note that I'm playing for both right now and the future (I try to look out 3 years or so). My team is pretty good for a 14-teamer, I've made the playoffs for the past few years and should again this year. I've tried dealing Westbrook, can't get a ton right now, everyone's scared off by his age and injuries. Maybe if he gets off to a hot start and stays healthy, his value will come back up, but not right now. I'm not going to deal him for a #2 WR, I'd rather hold onto him and see how he does first.
Also, who would you rather have in a keeper, Wayne or Boldin?
I agree with earlier posters that you should try to get as much as you can for Westy. He is good now, but so is CJ3, who is much younger. See if he bites on Westy for Bolding.
thanks for help with mine. Id go with Reggie Wayne. HEs a player that puts up solid numbers year in and out. PEYTON does spread the ball out but reggie wayne will get his.
