Did I win this monster 8 player trade??

Postby grandpa » Sun Aug 30, 2009 3:22 pm

During the late rounds of our draft, the following trade was proposed to me and I accpeted thinking it was too good to pass up- the only issue being this is a keeper league for up to 3 years- I would only have had Forte for 1 more year (this and next), as he was the one long term keeper player I was hesitant about moving.

I gave Forte, Steve Smith, Carson Palmer, and Matt Stafford

I got LT, Aaron Rodgers, Lee Evans, and Moreno

We are allowed to keep 1 rookie for free each year, and Moreno is the top of this years class in my mind.

My team now:

Rodgers
LT
MJD
Vincet Jackson
Brandon Marshall
Lee Evans
J. Witten

Also have Mason, Morgan, Bruce, Burleson, Robieski at WR- the drop from Steve Smith to Lee Evans was the one I was most concerned about, especially if Marshall continues to act like a bonhead.

It's an interesting trade. Yes, Moreno is considered the top of the rookie class, but he's already banged up a little in the pre-season. He's on a miserable team that just lost their star QB and my lose their star WR. LT can either hit or miss this year, he's on the backside of his career, and it's tough to say he'll have a bounceback from last year.

Even with just 2 seasons with Forte, I would have stuck with him. Palmer has really good vibes going into this year and Steve Smith is still a stud, not a good replacement for a 5-6th rounder like Evans.

I think you gave up the safer team for one that could have major upside, but it will be hit or miss.
