i guess ill throw in brown, barber, lynch and dmc.
thomas: drop in value, injured preseason, rbbc? is anyone still targeting him after all this?
grant: looks like the value pick around those picks
smith: also looks better, would def grab these 2 before thomas
brown: im not liking miami and their distributed offense, so id like to know why everyones high on brown
barber: everyones down on him this year and i guess i went with the wagon. whats going on in dallas?!
lynch: a secure back if you have a good rb replacement for the first 3 weeks imo. great rb.
dmc: oakland really looks like junk, but im on the fence with him.

what do you guys think? im still targeting rice, johnson as my rb3ish

I hope Thomas' apparent value keeps on dropping because he's the perfect example of preseason overanalysis. With everything supposedly going against him, the law of averages (or whatever it is) means that he'll have a breakout year. There, I said it here post-hype first.

Marshawn Lynch is a very good RB, but last year wasn't it. I'm not sure T.O. all of a sudden makes him find more holes or have a better yards per carry, because last year he struggled to get 100 yards for most of the season. With the strong run defenses of New York and Miami, with a decent showing of New England, I imagine he'll still have trouble. It doesn't help that the Buffalo defense isn't all that hot, so the run may be abandoned if they get blown out.

I'm not sure where all the Ronnie Brown excitement comes from either considering last year, but with Ricky Williams not much of a threat, I suppose folks think he's going to come into his own this year. Hey, he's worth as much of a shot as Kevin Smith.

Ryan Grant didn't do a whole lot last year and I am nominating him as the Blech RB2 pick this draft season. Not that he won't do decently, but no one ever talks about him, or necessarily wants him, yet he still goes as an RB2. The Blech RB1 is probably Portis and the Blech RB3 is definitely Jamal Lewis. Heck, he may be the Blech RB4 by now.

grant was injured last year but topped 1000 yards. hes fine now.
also dont get the portis hate. even if he does break down, you should have a top rb as a backup, as portis should slip down late.

Portis has got quite a good schedule this year, so maybe we should join in on the Portis hate so that our drafts go smoothly, yeah?

Grant is looking awesome this preseason. Guess what he was doing last preseason? Well, he wasn't near a football field... and then had hamstring issues. I think his lack of TDs was an anomaly, or maybe even reduced by his hamstring injury. If he can stay healthy, he should have about as many breakaway long TDs as he had last year total IMHO.

Yeh, I think Grant bounces back big this season and looks more like his 07 form. Don't really see why he wouldn't at all barring injury. That offense is going to move the ball really well this year and Grant will benefit.

I have taken Grant in the 3rd round as my RB2 in both of my drafts thus far. Some say it's a reach but I fail to see it. The guy is healthy and has little to no competition for carries. I'm with the above poster on his '08 TDs being an anomaly. He gets back up to par this year and will be a fringe 1st rounder, if not higher, in '10. 1,200 yards and 10 TDs is his floor this year IMO.

I like Kevin Smith as well but I don't ever end up with him on my squad. I'm usually taking Grant or a top WR around the time he goes. If he falls far enough I'll take him with no regrets.
