I like to wait if I think i can grab a late round guy who will perform in the top 10 (which I do). It really depends on your feelings on particular QBs. Make your cheat sheet for QBs, and break them down into tiers (with each tier having QBs you feel similar about). For example, here's mine:
Drew Brees, NO
Tom Brady, NE
-----
Peyton Manning, IND
Kurt Warner, ARI
-----
Aaron Rodgers, GB
Philip Rivers, SD
-----
Tony Romo, DAL
Matt Ryan, ATL
Matt Schaub, HOU
Donovan McNabb, PHI
-----
Matt Cassel, KC
Jay Cutler, CHI
Ben Roethlisberger, PIT
Carson Palmer, CIN
-----
Eli Manning, NYG
Kyle Orton, DEN
Brett Favre, MIN
David Garrard, JAC
-----
Matt Hasselbeck, SEA
Trent Edwards, BUF
Jake Delhomme, CAR
-----
Jason Campbell, WAS
Chad Pennington, MIA
Joe Flacco, BAL
-----
Shaun Hill, SF
JaMarcus Russell, OAK
Brady Quinn, CLE
Marc Bulger, STL
Kerry Collins, TEN
-----
Daunte Culpepper, DET
Mark Sanchez, NYJ
Matthew Stafford, DET
Now I personally think I can cobble together a top 10 QB by drafting Garrard (who was a top 10 guy last year and has a better line and more weapons) and some combination of Edwards, Delhomme, Hassleback, and Hill. However, if someone slips out of their tier and is waiting for me at a good bargain, I'll grab them (this has happened with Warner a lot this year). The problem is, while I feel I can draft a very servicable QB in the later rounds, I do not feel as confident about drafting a top 15 WR or RB, so if I grab a QB in the 4th round, my starters will take a big hit.
