1st team of 09 - WHIR

Postby Sex Panther » Sun Aug 30, 2009 8:37 pm

just got done drafting this team. 10 team redraft, standard scoring. QB/WR/WR/RB/RB/TE/K/D. Goofy draft/roster rules; Need to draft (and keep rostered) 2 QB, 3 WR, 3 RB, 2 TE, 2 K, 2 D, and 1 'flex" (any position). No traditional FA/WW pool - blind cash bids.

I drafted from the 4th slot.

Forte - RB CHI
Westbrook - RB PHI
Colston - WR NO
Welker - WR NE
Gates - TE SD
Warner - QB ARI
Lynch - RB BUF
Marshall - WR DEN
Cooley - TE WAS
Dallas - D/SP DAL
Gostkowski - K NE
Garrard - QB JAX
Philadelphia - D/SP PHI
Brown - K HOU
Bradshaw - RB NYG

Projected starters -

QB Warner
WR Colston
WR Welker
RB Forte
RB Westbrook
TE Gates
K Gostkowski
D/SP Dallas
Kate Upton's Husband - dead
Mr. Blonde - champ
Yo Soy Fiesta - dead
Old South - champ

I love your running backs, because I think Westbrook is undervalued this year. Your wideouts are decent, and you have a TE that will contribute. I worry about QB, only because I have a bad feeling this year about Warner. It'd really help your team if Marshall plays.

Warner, Garrard
Forte, Westbrook, Lynch, Bradshaw
Colston, Welker, Marshall
Gates, Cooley
Gostkowski, Brown
Dallas, Philly

Your team looks a bit like mine...
Warner has no reason not to do well with Fitz and Boldin back. Like the Forte/Westbrook combo. Think Lynch is a bit of a waste. Bradshaw was a steal if you got him in the last round.
Colston/Welker is a solid duo, and Marshall was a crazy steal that late. Problem is, his status is up in the air... really should have a 4th WR instead of 4th RB in case one of your starters go down. Think about trading Lynch for WR depth. Gates AND Cooley? You should run a 2TE formation. Gostkowski is a nobrainer, brown should do well as well. Solid defenses.

I like your team. You're an injury away from some trouble but who isn't. You depth will increase when/if your suspensions are over (Marshall, Lynch).
I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

I would look to pick up westbrooks backup if possible, otherwise Lynch will be ready by the time westy craps out on you....i live in dallas and if we have any injuries on def, our second team sucks...and I'm guessing Leinert got picked up if not you should pick him up for security...your not gonna win anything with Garrard leading you...Bradshaw should be a good pick when Jacobs goes down like usual

You have a very solid team. Good starting qb, rb's, wr's, & te. It would be a great ppr team, but your league is standard scoring. wr's are good, but their td upside is limited (NO spreads the td's around and Brady throws to Moss or TE's in the red zone). I figure in a 10 team league, other teams have better wr's, but you should have the upper hand in the rb area.

Over all, it is a good team that should keep you in the running all year (barring injury to Warner/Westy).

Forte - RB CHI
Westbrook - RB PHI
Colston - WR NO
Welker - WR NE
Gates - TE SD
Warner - QB ARI
Lynch - RB BUF
Marshall - WR DEN
Cooley - TE WAS
Dallas - D/SP DAL
Gostkowski - K NE
Garrard - QB JAX
Philadelphia - D/SP PHI
Brown - K HOU
Bradshaw - RB NYG

Projected starters -

QB Warner
WR Colston
WR Welker
RB Forte
RB Westbrook
TE Gates
K Gostkowski
D/SP Dallas

QB - Warner will be a stud if healthy...i'd have gone with a backup with more upside than Garrard GRADE B
RB - Forte is nice but Westy makes me nervous. Lynch is a nice backup though and Bradshaw is a nice flier GRADE B+
WR - didnt see if it was PPR or not but not a huge fan of Welker as a #2 if it isnt...MArshall is a nice high-risk/high-reward GRADE B
TE - Gates is a stud GRADE A-
OVERALL - as long as Westy and Warner stays healthy you should be a playoff team GRADE B
