My QBs are not good.

Postby deepstrike » Sun Aug 30, 2009 11:45 pm

Just drafted on friday - 10 team PPR league QB/RBx2/WRx3/TE/FLEX/K/DEF - with QB allowed in flex and a 5 man bench.

My league is a mix of noobs who've done their homework, noobs that haven't and lightly seasoned fantasy players (me being of the first variety).

I'm pretty happy with my team:

RBs
Matt Forte
Steve Slaton
Leon Washington
Rashard Mendenhall

WRs
Calvin Johnson
Marques Colston
Chad Ochocinco
Derrick Mason
Donald Driver
Josh Morgan

TE
Tony Gonzales

And my QBs...
Matt Cassel
Shaun Hill

Lots of guys in my league loaded up on QBs so they could run a second one in the flex position and I felt pretty good having snagged Cassel in the 8th round of our draft. I'm not too pleased to hear that he's out for 2-4 weeks especially coming one night after our draft :P

I'm not too sure what to do here - this is my first season in fantasy football and Shaun Hill doesn't inspire too much confidence. Looking at the QBs left on the FA list I see - Marc Bulger, Kerry Collins, Brady Quinn, Daunte Culpepper and Byron Leftwich whom I think will be starting.

Should I make a deal and try to pick up another QB? Pick one up off the wire? Or stay tight?

I would try and deal for one but if not you can gamble with Brady Quinn or possibly Sanchez or Pennigton if they are still available.

If those are the only QBs on your wire, i would not pick any of those up. Is Garrard on your wire by any chance? He would be worth picking up.

Otherwise try packaging a couple of your WRs for a QB. You dont even have to do it right away. You can until at least one of your lesser receivers have had a hot week.

I dont think your QBs are bad, but given Cassel's injury, i'd feel better if you had another QB. Dont overpay for one though. In the meantime, Leon Washington is a good flex player.

I'd take Quinn or Bulger, and keep Cassell, as long as he can get up in running in a few weeks you can put him back in to start. If not you'll have to trade some players to get a decent QB, look for someone who has 2 decent QB's and wouldn't be losing much to give one up in a trade.
