LYNCH & HOLT FOR STEVE SMITH (CAR)? WHIR!!!

Postby MAXIMIS » Mon Aug 31, 2009 2:11 am

Here's my roster 12 Team no ppr standard yahoo:
Scoring exceptions are QB 20 yds pass = 1, Passing TD's = 3 (Start 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 wr/rb, 1 te, 1 k 1 def)

QB: Brady, Edwards
RB: Forte, Lynch, Parker, Rice, J.Jones
WR: Jennings, Ocho Cinco, Holt, Hester, Bennett
TE: V.Davis, Z.Miller
DEF: Green Bay
K: (EMPTY)

I need to make a spot for a kicker & was thinking of picking up Carney (NO) off FA if I could open up a spot. I'm really waiting to see if V.Davis pans out finally due to having Gonzo's old mentor now and getting lots of looks in preseason. Also looking to see if Earl Bennett works out (Cutler's old Vanderbuilt Receiver now starting #2 in CHI).

i'M THINKING OF OFFERING THIS TRADE:

LYNCH & HOLT FOR STEVE SMITH(PANTHERS)

what does the cafe think about this one?? I am pretty deep at RB. (and actually deeper than I care for in WR) Is SMITH worth giving up Lynch & Holt for.
Parker, Rice and Jones have Excellent schedules for RB. I did really want him in the draft but he went before it got to me so I got Jennings.
Or do I stay put and simply drop V. Davis or Bennett for the kicker spot.

His RB's are
SJax
Addai
Moreno
Mendenhall
L.Washington
... so I think he could get by til Lynch comes back and it will improve his RB#2 a lot I think as Addai should fall swiftly through the season.

Thanks for the help!

I would drop Vernon Davis for a Kicker. You need a Kicker period, and you're talking like 1 or 2 points difference in TE's of this caliber.

I like Lynch alot and I think he's a special player, but he's going to miss 4 games and that worries me if you're looking at total points.

I would say the trade looks good.

If I am the other guy in this trade it would really depend on who my other WR were. Just looking at what is there I don't think I would agree to that deal myself. However, if I have a couple of other really good WR then I might be willing to deal.

Thanks for the reply......Please read the extra league info I had posted.

As far as yours goes this one I am torn on a little. Having S.Smith, Jennings and Ocho would all be great. I think Holt will bounce back pretty decently this year but he is getting up there and who knows what will happen.

Once Lynch comes back he will be great as well unless F.Jackson does well then it might be more of a RBBC then expected!

You do have a plethera of RB's and WR's though so either way I think you will be fine. Pesonnally I would try and trade Parker instead of Lynch and roll with Rice until Lynch comes back. I think Mendy will take too much from FWP this year and since when has Parker been healthy?

If the person won't go for FWP though then go ahead and do the Lynch trade. I think it's 50/50 but having Smith and Jennings I thing overvalue then playing Lynch (after 4 weeks) or FWP and Forte.

I say do it but I would get rid of FWP before Lynch!

Thanks again and Good Luck!

I don't think I'd make this deal- you can start 3 RBs with the flex, and you'd be relying on Parker, Rice, and JJ to start every week, maybe even 2 of them. I would try and make the deal including Parker, Rice, or JJ instead. You may have to give up Hester instead, but I'd try and hold onto Lynch since he's your 2nd best RB.

Plz take a look http://www.fantasyfootballcafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=442312

hmmm i like the trade value wise for you even though im high on Holt i also like Steve Smith very much...

but seeing as you start 2 WR, and have Jennings and CHad85, why do you need smith?... i think RB depth is more important... Holt can serve as a matchup or bye week fill in for Chad85 or Jennings... keep lynch for the depth IMO.

But if you really want to do it I don't see anything wrong with it value wise I think you win.

thanks for the help on mine
