We just had our draft and I think I am thin at WR and need some advice. Should I try to pick up any of these WR and drop either Galloway or Ginn Jr or more lickely one of my RB? I will address a backup QB after that for week 4.

WR on waiver wire: Gage Michael Jenkins Devery Henderson Bess Branch Clayton Bennett Nicks Rice Jordy Nelson Cribbs
it is the day after the draft and alot of teams are hurting right now. The guy that has jacobs only has two WR's on his team and they are Cotchery and Marshall.
you're flipping a WR3 for a WR1 (washington is expected to miss multiple weeks w/ the hammy injury) gage has had a great preseason, and if you look at his games last year, he produced pretty consistently when he wasn't hurt. i think he makes a great WR4 with some upside. i'd hang on to ginn jr and ahmad bradshaw.
another issue here is that I have the #1 waiver, should I burn that on Gage or wait and see if he is available after waivers begin on Wed. There are a lot of teams that have 3 and 4 def, kickers, qb's so I would imagine he is gone after Wed.
if there are teams with only 2 WRs, i would imagine gage will be gone by weds.
that said, he may not be enough of an upgrade to warrant burning the #1 waiver pick. i would try to hang on to that until the beginning of the season-you never know who is going to get injured week 1 and open up a huge opportunity for an RB or QB.

Gage was also the clear cut #1 last year and only contributed 650 Yards, Washington will or should be back for the opening weekend and if not for sure will be back for week 2, and when he does he will be the #1 look for Collins. They are a run first offense so the passing game wont have as much to spread around and i would look for nothing more then 500 Yards and 4 TDs out of Gage this year. Ginn is a much better pick then Gage or really any of the players you have listed.
My first thought is to add Nicks for Galloway, Nicks has much more upside then Galloway (who still isn't on the same page as Brady and that offense, and will only be good for an occasional big play when he breaks one this year) and has much more upside then that of Gage as all news is pointing to him becoming the starter in NY. Hixon has looked like sh!t all preseason while Nicks has impressed (his big game coming against the Jets on Saturday with 6 Rec for 144 yards and 2 TDs)... really can't believe Nicks wasn't drafted, but if it were me i think Nicks is the only receiver of that group thats worth a #1 waiver priority.
2) gage only started 10 games last year, so his 650/6 isn't too terrible. would've cleared 1,000 and been close to 10 scores with a full schedule. he's looked excellent this preseason, with 85 yards and 2 scores in his past two games. that's against first team D's, unlike...
3) nicks has played against 3rd string defenses, and you want a "run first" team? the titans had 508 att last year, the giants had 502. very similar. nicks can be a great NFL player, but i think he's still got a lot to prove, and there are other legitimate receiving threats on the giants, whereas the titans have nobody.

A. I will agree to disagree with you on Gage, I just simply don't think that hes a legit fantasy impact WR in that Tennessee offense, and if/when Washington is healthy he won't see as many shots as he did last year. Thats what I was trying to get at with Washington is that he will cut severely into Gage's touches.
B. Come on now Lug, legitimate receiving threats on the Giants squad where? Hixon? He has already proven this preseason that he can't even catch the ball let alone make plays. Smith? This is what his third shot at the starting role, or at bare minimum his 2nd legit shot at it, how many more does he need before he sticks? Manningham? Hes a lifetime college receiver and will be categorized as that his whole NFL career. He has some good years as a Michigan wideout, but i don't think has the skill set to be an every down WR. Moss? This IS his 3rd tryout for a starting spot and he has yet to do anything worthy of warranting him a starting spot. Last but not least David Tyree? He IS a lifetime backup and occasional catch or two in a season type guy, he had an amazing grab in the playoffs and thats ALL people remember him for. So that leaves Nicks, who has impressed many this offseason and has just about cemented a spot as a starting wideout.
The Nicks topic I will not agree to disagree, because there are no Legit WR to stand infront of him...
