I really want to get my hands on Drew Brees. I've spoken with the owner of Brees and he's willing to deal. He feels he has a need at RB and he had Phillip rivers last year, so he does like him. I feel like I can make something work. I don't want to overpay because I do like Rivers. Anybody have any suggestion on a fair deal? Or should I stand pat? Teams listed below. Standard H2H league, no flex, no ppr, 6 pt TD's for all.
QB - Phillip Rivers RB - Deangelo Williams RB - Ryan Grant WR - Calvin Johnson WR - Vincent Jackson TE - Jeremy Shockey K - Lawrence Tynes D/ST - New York Jets BN- Larry Johnson BN- Kevin Walter BN- Fred Jackson BN- Leon Washington BN- Trent Edwards
QB - Drew Brees RB- Steve Slaton RB - Willie Parker WR - Anquan Boldin WR - Bernard Berrian TE - Chris Cooley K - Stephen Gostkowski D/ST - Philadelphia Eagles BN- Hines Ward BN- Domenik Hixon BN- LeSean McCoy BN- Kyle Orton BN- Chris Brown
Thanks in advance! Post a link and I'll help with yours.

was thinking about something like this also, but if you read his whole post it says the guy needs RB help, so there would be no point for the other manager to do that deal.
i do on the other hand like the thought of Rivers/LJ for Brees/McCoy, as with this trade you still have backups to play in the bye weeks and you get an upgrade at your QB slot. thats about the only thing i think i would do.
I am going to have to agree with the Brees/McCoy for Rivers/LJ. You have two solid RBs as your starters, and I really wouldn't want to get rid of Grant at all. His only RB that would even be worth throwing in as your downgrade at backup RB is obviously McCoy. I'm really not seeing any other possibilities that I would want to do.

But do you really think he would do that, I mean Brees is a good chunk better than Rivers and Larry isn't very good same with McCoy

ummm what? LJ had some injury problems last year and had an off year, to think this guy isn't a guy who can give you 1200-1400 total yards with 10+ TDs on any given year going forward is crazy. the difference between Brees and Rivers from last year is big yes, but this year? i don't think its near as much, do i see Brees going for another 5000+ yard season? No. do i see Rivers improving over last year? Yes. you have to remember LT was injured last year which allowed the opposing D's to cue on the passing game more, add to the fact that Gates was junk compared to Gates standards last year with the Toe injury and also that Rivers wasn't himself last year either. Rivers will definitely improve over last years stats, and also i will say if this guy wants more then that, well than just go ahead and pass because its definitely NOT worth it for you. i can actually make a case that Rivers/LJ is too much for Brees/McCoy...
do you think I should make that deal? or do you think I should stick with what I have?
sounds like you think I should keep Rivers.
the more i look at it i think you should stand pat, i was iffy when i posted the first time and just thought that if you did the deal with LJ and McCoy in it that wouldn't be that bad. BUT look at the stats...
to me whats the difference? i don't for see Brees going for 5000+ again this year, maybe 4500 at best, and with all of those yardage numbers last year he still ended up with the same number of TDs as Rivers. incorporate the 6 INT difference and the 85 rush yards and the point totals come back to being ALOT closer. also Rivers did that with some injuries himself, but also key injuries to his protection players of LT and Gates. i can see Rivers going for 4000-4300 yards this year and 32-36TDs middle of the road. add to it the fact that you are also trading a RB in LJ who is coming back healthy and THE main guy who is going to be depended on even more with Cassel going down and this a guy who rushed for back-to-back 1700+ seasons totally 4000+ Yds and 40 TDs over that stretch. yes hes had some injury woes but i dont think KC is ready to throw the towel in on him yet, all of this for an unproven Rookie RB who is stuck behind one of the most prolific RB (yes albeit Westy is one of the most injury prone backs in the league, but look at the stats at best will be looking at having 3-4 games totally to himself without Westy. McCoy is a great sleeper pick but i think you are paying over the top for what your getting. add to the fact look at Brees schedule to end the year, 11-17 consists of @TB, NE, @WASH, @ATL, DAL, TB, @CAR all of which have average to above average passing defenses. i really think you should stick with Rivers and LJ and reap the rewards of both.
I think since the season hasn't even started, your starting point should be based on your draft picks. You need to give him something better than he could have drafted, otherwise he'll just laugh at your offer. To be honest, I would be cautious on this, because you could easily overpay. I know Brees is awesome, but you don't want to sell the farm to get him.
12 Team Re-draft league Start 1QB, 2 RB, 2 WR 1TE, K, D/ST 1/10 yds Rec/Rush or 20 yds pass; 3/pass TD; 6/rush-rec TD
