keeper league

Postby eric31216 » Mon Aug 31, 2009 8:29 pm

hey guys, i have a question regarding an offer i received in my keeper league (5 keepers)

here is my current roster

QB - Matt Ryan
RB - Steve Slaton (K), MJD (K)
WR - Anquan Boldin (K), Roddy White (K), Lee Evans
TE - Greg Olsen
Flex - Frank Gore (K)

Current Bench - Knowshon Moreno, Ray Rice, Donald Driver

I've got a solid set of keepers in slaton, mjd, gore, boldin and white, but nonetheless, i was still able to grab moreno and ray rice with my top 2 picks. i dont see either of those 2 guys breaking into my top 5 keepers, but i drafted them for their high trade value. knowing this,

would you trade moreno for wes welker straight up?

this is not a PPR league yet welker would be a big upgrade over evans. however, i am wondering if the massive upside of moreno is > than the boring yet consistent welker. or should i hold onto moreno until later? thought?

WHIR!

i think right now is probably a bad time to trade moreno. he hasn't done much this preseason, the backfield is currently crowded, and the broncos are a mess. moreno's value is pretty low right now, and so i don't think you'll get an offer that really reflects what he's worth. could things get worse? sure. but they're more than likely to get better, and you'll either have A) a great keeper on your hands or B) better trade offers coming in.

i would hold tight for now and see how things develop in the next few weeks. good luck.

thanks for the help on mine!

I would offerrr it. I probably would accept it too...if i was offered moreno for Welker. Your keepers are solid enough your trading someone who would be rotting on your bench for a stud #2 wr ;-D

thanks for the help on mine

Yeah, I would trade Moreno for Welker. With Brady back, Welker should get his gaudy yardage and a TD or two back. Moreno has a questionable knee as of the moment and is playing in Josh McD's offense, so they may be throwing the ball quite alot anyway.Tough call tbh, but I go with Welker here.

I would do that trade. The Broncos have a crowded backfield and even though Moreno has lots of potential, you already have 3 solid RB's and you would be a getting a WR who could help out right away.
