Housh for Witten or Gates?

Postby ironchef » Mon Aug 31, 2009 10:23 pm

Should I trade TJ for Witten or Gates? I drafted TJ in the 4th when Witten and Gates were still available...and I think I grabbed some high upside WR2 in Gonzalez and Royal.
I may actually be able to give up TJ, Gonzales or Royal for either one. What do you guys think?
WHIR!

I think you can afford to do this especially only starting 2 WRs, then look to shop Gates or if you keep him, have 2 stud TEs

what is the point in this trade exactly? You can only start one TE, add to it the fact that to do this deal your going to have to drop one of either Chris Henry, James Davis or Miller just to do the deal? I think I would pass on this, yes its great value, but I never make a trade to get trade bait that I can't use if I can't get them traded. It would really suck if you did this deal then no one wanted either Witten or Gates, because frankly they are big names, but you won't get the value back for them after the draft so you would then either have to suck it up and get lesser value or have one rot on your bench every week. Now why not go TJ/Miller for either Witten or Gates/a WR or RB? that would be alot more logical... ;-D

A big thanks to deluxe_247 for the sweet sig!

Still he is getting a big upgrade in TE and in a PPR TJ should be on par with Royal/Gonzo who would be starting in his place

Does the other team really need tj? Cause if he does i would say go for it...because it might be hard for him to give up an elite TE if he really doesnt need tj . Everything ive read has A.Gonzo as a sleeper pick with alot of value now that Harrison is gone, so i see him and Royal as low end #2's. So i think you should offer it :D Go for Witten if you can. ;-D

Looks like it'll be Anthony Gonzalez for Gates

That's a good deal. I love having one of the top TE's. Locking down that roster spot is huge!

I like that a lot. You keep Housh so you'll still have White, TJ and Royal as your 3 WRs. Great trade IMO ;-D
