Waiver help for RB spot

Postby thmarine » Tue Sep 01, 2009 1:32 am

I think I ended up somewhat weak in the RB department, with little to no depth, but some upside potential if certain things should happen.

Anyway, here is what I have at RB:
Forte (CHI)- stud
Ray Rice (BAL) - good potential, is he gonna be the starter, any consistency?
Rashard Mendenhall (PIT)- maybe just a backup waiting for Willie Parker to get hurt?
Chris 'Beanie' Wells (ARI) - upside good, but still potentially just a backup
Shonn Greene (NYJ) - again, some upside, but probably another backup

If things all happened in my favor, this could be a stud backfield. However, it could end up being a dud as well with no consistency except maybe for Forte and hopefully for Rice.

There is not much quality available in my 13 team league, but would you drop any of those guys for the ones available below, or maybe just wait it out to see how these young guys do in the first couple of weeks ?

Here is what I could pick up:
Edgerrin James (SEA)
Jamaal Charles (KC)
James Davis (CLE)

Thanks for your thoughts!

I have to drop either Shonn Greene or James Davis before week 1 to pick up a Kicker.

At this point, I am heavily leaning towards keeping James Davis. I think he has a good chance to get the starting gig if Lewis plays poorly in the first few games. Even if he doesn't, he will be factored into that offense.

Greene...I don't think that he will have much of an impact. It is looking like Thomas Jones is playing well, and Leon Washington is the ultimate change of pace back. There really is no reason to give Greene the ball very often. His only chance is a Thomas Jones injury.

Good luck. ;-D

Drop Greene for Davis. Davis only has 1 rb in front of him, Greene has 2.

Well, that is 3 for 3 to drop Greene for Davis ... I just really had not studied up on these two, so thank you for giving me some insight. I will try to snag him.
Cheers!
