Please take a look at my team. WHIR

Postby Hamiltond18 » Tue Sep 01, 2009 11:52 am

I play in a 12 team head to head Yahoo leauge. We start QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, FLEX, TE, K, DST. Scoring is pretty standard. I had the 1st overall pick this year, let me know how you think I did and what I can do to make my team better. Looking for any options, trades to make now, drop, and adds.. Leave a link and I WHIR....Thanks!

By the way my draft plan with the 1st pick was to go RB, WR, WR because I figured there were a lot less WR's than RB's to put up good numbers. But I do feel I may be weak at the RB pos. Any help would be great, thanks again!

1. (1) Adrian Peterson RB1
2. (24) Calvin Johnson WR1
3. (25) Reggie Wayne WR2
4. (48) Larry Johnson RB2
5. (49) Donovan McNabb QB
6. (72) Cedric Benson RB3
7. (73) Lee Evans WR
8. (96) Dustin Keller TE
9. (97) Tim Hightower RB
10. (120) Darren Sproles RB
11. (121) Percy Harvin WR
12. (144) Steve Smith WR
13. (145) Nate Washington WR
14. (168) Green Bay DST
15. (169) Glen Coffee RB
16. (192) Isaac Bruce WR
17. (193) Neil Rackers K

Thanks for rating my team.

Absolutely loved the WRx2 strategy when wayne and megatron fell to you. AP is AP, but LJ in the 4th was a huge reach in my opinion. McNabb's a solid QB, but you would've been well served picking up a backup in the draft. Evans is a little weak for the flex i think. Great upside WR backups in Harvin and Steve Smith. Maybe package one with Evans for a better flex player or upgrade on LJ. Benson could be decent as either trade bait or a flex option. Don't know what you expect Nate Washington to contribute this year, but he's starting the year gimp for a team that likes to run and dump off to tight ends and drafted kenny britt. I'm not convinced that Dustin Keller is the answer to anyone's TE position, but Sanchez may rely on him early to get his bearings. My favorite of your remaining backup RBs is Coffee... Gore likes to get hurt every year; meanwhile I don't think Sproles or Hightower will get enough touches to be anything more than mediocre (and their starters I think can stay healthy).

LJ and Benson at 2/3 is a bit of a risk, as I don't think it is too much of a stretch that neither is the starter half way into the season. Package one with Evans and try to upgrade.

I agree with the comments above - definitely need to have a backup QB as Donovan is known to have slumps or get hurt. Larry Johnson at 4th pick is a bit of a stretch, but he may have been the best available and you're receiving corp makes up for some of that. All in all a nice draft.

Agree w/ most of the guys above me. LJ and Benson are really iffy picks, I'd like to know who else was available in round 4 when you took LJ. I actually like Hightower this year, he's going low as hell and Chris Wells is probably going to get hurt anyway like he always does.

What RB's would you go after if I were to package Evan with LJ or Benson?
