What is the ideal draft position this year (12 teams) WHIR

Postby tjdoren » Tue Sep 01, 2009 11:56 am

I have the #4 slot in our 12 team draft this year. 15 rounds. I'm not too thrilled about my prospects at #4, considering how long I'll have to wait for my 2nd round pick at #21. I've tried to trade down in the first round, and pick up some better picks later in the draft, but I haven't been able to work a deal yet. Now I'm considering a wholesale swap of positions (all my picks for all of their picks). I'm thinking somewhere around 8 to 10 would be ideal.

CBS has an interesting article on this topic: http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasyfootball/story/12111296

I rank the top four draft slots like this:
#1 (I know I wouldn't be able to trade into this position)
#9
#8
#10

Where do you think is the best spot this year?

Post a link...I'll try to help you in return

I personally would prefer 8 in 12 team league. You could go WR/WR with those 2 picks if Fitz, AJ, Moss and CJ were available and be set at that position.

In a 12-teamer, I hate picks 4-9...top 3 or bottom 3 would have been better. In your case though, if you are unable to trade, you can still draft a very decent team at the 4 spot. I read that article in CBS and it doesnt always hold true. I drafted 5th in a 12 teamer and did very well, better than that team in the article. Im rarely in drafts where 11 of the first 12 picks are RBs...so there is room to capitalize on the "mistakes" of others. At four, you can very well draft RB/WR/WR/QB/RB and come out very well.
