Why do people think of ONE injury and that automatically makes them injury prone? I just don't understand its happening more and more on these boards, Portis is far from injury prone and if he is he plays through it like a player whos being paid to play the game should do. And playing through those injuries hasn't affected his stats as, again outside of 06-07, hes fallen under 1300 rush yards ONCE and hovers around the 1700-1800 total yardage year in year out. That was a just about a bonehead comment to make that Betts would get the most PT because of a Portis injury.

None of the runningbacks he menionted are worth picking up IMO. If I was to have any of them, I would rather have Betts.

bazzy_51 wrote:As for the trade question, I would shoot high for a Ronnie Brown, Kevin Smith, Ryan Grant type player. Or better yet I would go after Marshawn Lynch, of course everyone knows about the suspension so the owner may have dropped his value down. More so tho I would look the rosters over and pick out the 2 teams that have A. the Weakest QB situation or B. the Weakest TE situation as those will be the 2 squads that will be more able to trade for what your offering...

I don't know what idiot would trade Ronnie Brown, Kevin Smith or Ryan Grant type player for Big Ben + Clark or Shockey. Why would they give up their RB2 for a BACKUP quarterback and a TE (the difference between TEs isn't worth the difference or value in the decrease at the RB position).

You're trade offer or idea was a much more, how'd you put, bonehead of a statement than mine. Good day.

So youd rather see him shoot low and get a Ray Rice type RB when by some possibility he could have had a RB type like the ones i listed? Never heard the quote 'You can't increase accepted value, but you can always decrease un-accepted value'? Meaning if he goes after Rice with that, and the guy accepts it knowing he would have given a back of more value then Rice but the guy didn't ask for it so his loss now, rather then asking for the farm and settling for just a horse? But yeah whatever guess we all aim low in the world ;-D ....Good Day?

If I saw that deal offered to me, I would laugh at it and just be even more annoyed that I wasted two minutes of my day looking at it and rejecting it.

I would assume Ben/Shockey wouldn't work for Rice, but you could give it a shot. You are probably going to have to look at the afterthought backup RBs and hope someone goes down during the season (cant think of names but Jamals backup and LJs backup come to mind)
