Randy Moss at 1.05, am I nuts?

Postby Sex Panther » Tue Sep 01, 2009 3:15 pm

12 team redraft, standard scoring w/ yardage bonuses, QB/WR/WR/RB/RB/TE/Flex/K/D.

Draft is Thursday - I drew the 5th pick.

I'm torn between LT or Randy, either pick could work out wonderfully and each pick has just as good of a chance to blow up in my face.

I know neither player will be there on the way back to me at 20.

Would I'd be off my rocker to take Moss that early?

I took Moss in that spot after ADP, Turner, MJD and Forte were taken in my 10-team redraft league. Predictably I ended up stacked at WR and hoping for a gamble to pay off at RB.

If I had it to do over again, I might take LDT or Williams instead. You'll still have the option of grabbing one of the top-7 WRs coming back at pick #20. If you end up stacked at RB and weak at WR it'll always be easier to trade an RB for a WR with someone who thinks RBs are way more consistent and valuable than WRs than the other way around.

At 5 you should have DWill, LT or a top back to chose from and when it comes back to you for your 2nd pick you will still have a decent wr, or another rb to chose from.

Take a RB at #5. Stud Rb's that get goal line carries and are not involved in a RBBC are rare, take your stud at #5 and then focus on WR in the 2nd and 3 rd round.

What the last guy said. See if a player like MJD or Forte falls to #5... it can happen... I've seen it. I'd stay clear from LT (this coming from a huge LT fan and a long-tem keeper-owner of him).
