Trade Help - Should I pull the trigger

Postby lgolas » Tue Sep 01, 2009 5:25 pm

I am in a 12 team dynasty auction league. I need to upgrade at the WR position and am heavy in the RB departments. The scoring is fairly standard for offense with bonus points going for plays over 50+ yards. After that basic scoring 6 pts TD's, etc. We start 1 QB, 2 RB's, 3 WR's, 1 TE & 1 Flex position. I was offered Brandon Marshall & Hakeem Nicks for Brian Westbrook. I'm hesitant with Marshall's status but he would improve my WR's & Nicks makes for a great keeper. Here is my roster.

QB ELi Manning
RB Matt Forte (keeper)
RB Steve Slaton (keeper)
WR Braylon Edwards
WR Tory Holt
WR Domenik Hixon
TE Tony Gonzales
FLEX Brian Westbrook

BN Marshawn Lynch (keeper)
BN Chris Wells (keeper)
BN Ahmad Bradshaw
WR Derrick Mason
WR Juaquin Iglesias
WR Ramses Barden
QB Carson Palmer
TE Kelln Winslow

Should I pull the trigger on this trade and take my chances with Marshall or should I look for a better deal. Thanks and will help if you leave a link.

I personally like westbrook and would keep him, however marshall has a huge upside, I'd try to wait to figure out the whole suspension deal before I made such a big gamble. I'd say stary with what you've got. Maybe look to unload winslow for a wideout? You've got stellar TE's. Otherwise counter and see if he'd take lynch? That's my two-cents.

Yeah, you're definitely stacked in RB and short in WR. You need to do something... I would move Westy as well in a dynasty format if you could get proper WR value... I love Nicks and he could be very special, but I agree that I think you have to wait to see the Marshall situation unfold. Perhaps take a look around the league and see if you can get 2 solid WRs with upside but are more certain than Marshall. You have the ability to generate a bigger/more sure return I think.

I think you are giving up Westy too cheap. There are way too many question marks in Denver this year. You have a potential top 5 RB with Westy, if you deal him you need to get a WR that is guaranteed to at least play this year.
