i feel like i have many good players, especially RB and might be better letting them get off to a good start before dealing for some slow-starters... but I think I should maybe throw out a few deals for another WR or QB. What do you think?
this is a yahoo 10 team league with pretty standard scoring (starters in bold). any advice is really appreciated. thanks
QB: C. Palmer WR: Boldin, Welker, Housh, K. Walter, D. Hester RB: LT, Gore, McFadden, Ward, Rice, Sproles TE: Winslow, Shiancoe K: none D: San Diego Def: J. Wilson
*** have offered Housh + Ward for R. White (+ J. Kasay to take care of my hole at K). Is this fair value? too high/too low? not the right direction at all? please give me your thoughts
that is too much to offer. I don' think that there will be a huge difference in Housh and Roddy's numbers. There is no way I would give up a potential starting RB in Ward for a slight upgrade at WR.
i know its always tough to pull of a 2-for-1, but i really feel like i have good pieces and I dont want to lose one staight up to free-agency. maybe i'm better off targeting another QB, or just stay with status quo?

+1, i have no idea why everyone is undervaluing Housh this year. i think hes in a better situation then he was in Cincy, hes a possession receiver and Hasselbeck is a possession QB, they fit perfectly. He has looked good all preseason and has gelled well with Hass. don't go after last years stats out of White this year, you are giving up WAY too much. i don't really think that by years end White is THAT much of an upgrade over TJ anyways. stay put...
Garrard, Flacco and Pennington will give you a QB that does not throw many INT's or TD's and are safe picks. Figure out which QB has the better match up week 8 and go for that. That would eliminate Campbell as they have the same bye week.
Shiancoe? Hester? what you guys think? should i try more to upgrade somewhere with a 2-for-1? i haven't done football much, but this league has a lot on the line... any help is appreciated
Thanks for your help with mine, I would drop Shiancoe for Flacco. The other QB's didn't get drafted in most of the leagues I'm in. I don't like your first offer. Who's his QB's? I'd try to get 2 players for the ones you are offering.
McFadden and Palmer for Manning or Rodgers and a good RB3 option, then your set. I like the trade you did even though others didn't. TB may play Ward, Graham and Cadillac, so Ward has looked like less of a sure bet in recent weeks. Also, SEA is supposed to dedicate to the run this year and Housh needs to adjust to a new system with no Ocho Cinco and C. Henry drawing defensive attention. I think Housh will still be decent but I'm thinking like 70 catches for 1000 yrds and 5-6 Tds. Roddy has been consistently great the past two years with no one drawing defensive attention. Ryan is a year better now and Gonzalez gives that additional threat which prevents as many double teams. He should do even better than last year, I'd say 90 catches for 1400 and 8 TDs. I wouldn't trust Palmer for the year. That is your one weakness. You don't have to goive up McFadden, but I think he gives you the best value right now. I also think Ray Rice could put up similar to better #s than RunDMC this year so you'd still be okay at RB.
Oh, and if you don't want to trade again pick up, Garrard and don't worry about the backup K until the bye week comes. A K on the waver wire will be a fine b ye wekk fill in.
