Drop Cassel

Postby bluesky997 » Tue Sep 01, 2009 9:53 pm

Given Cassel is hurt and an unfriendly schedule, should I drop him and pick up Mark Sanchez (available on WW)?

Thanks!

Cassel's injury isn't serious, as he isn't expected to miss anything more than possibly week 1. Chances are, unless you didn't draft a backup QB, you wouldn't have played him week 1 as it is, as he is going against the Baltimore Ravens D.
Most consider Cassel a risk to draft and many consider him a bust, but I say hold on to him, unless you have a better option on your waiver wire than Mark Sanchez. Sanchez is a rookie, so expectations should be modest, and he doesn't have a great WR corps to work with.

I'd hang onto Cassel unless he was your only QB. I'm going to assume (yes, I know, ass-you-me) Cassel is NOT your main QB and as such, you have him to cover your primary's bye week. Take a look at the bye week matchup for Cassel vs Sanchez. That is how I would decided since I think the overall stats for the two will end up about even.
Thank God for Football Season.
