I'm in a yahoo head-to-head league with standard scoring and 12 teams. We start 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 WR/RB, 1 WR/TE, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF. I had the 11th pick in odd rounds and the 2nd in even rounds. I'm very pleased with my quality and depth at WR, RB, and TE. I'm very worried about the QB spot. Tell me what you think. The league is rather deep as there are also 10 bench spots along with the 10 starters. As always I will help in return.

QB:
David Garrard 11th round

WR:
Andre Johnson 1st round
Marques Colston 4th round
Dominick Hixon 9th round
Lance Moore 12th round
Justin Gage 15th round
Josh Morgan 17th round
Steve Smith (NYG) 18th round

RB:
Frank Gore 2nd round
Ryan Grant 3rd round
Darren McFadden 6th round
Cedric Benson 7th round
Derrick Ward 8th round
Donald Brown 10th round
Fred Jackson 13th round
Brandon Jackson 19th round

TE:

Greg Olsen 5th round
Dustin Keller 14th round

K:
Nick Folk 20th round

DEF:
Green Bay 16th round

Other than not taking a backup QB, I think you did very well!

QB - Garrard is not a bad starting QB, I had him around #10 among QBs.

RBs - Your RBs are solid, I like that you managed to get Grant for your #2 RB and Gore is an nice #1. The rest of your RBs are above average, so you did very well here.

WR - Again, VERY solid! This is your strongest position, all your backups have potential.

TE - Olsen is a nice starter and Keller should give you some nice numbers this year as well.

K - Not great, but not an extremely important position IMHO.

DST - I don't like Green Bay a lot since they switched to a 3-4. I would go with the committee approach here.

Summary - Looks like a pretty solid team and the only way I see that you don't make the playoffs is if you completely dismantle your team or are plagued with injuries. All in all, great job!

You're right, qb is a weak spot. Garrard is a good fill-i qb, but not a fantasy starter. You are really going to need to have your other positions perform above average to make up the difference. Your 1st four picks were really good values (esp. Colston in the 4th). I think the production you get from them will help off set Garrard. Anything more than one td pass from Garrard and you should have a really good chance of winning that game. The down side is Garrard throws one or zero td's and one of your top four has a bad week. If you could swing a trade for a qb with more upside (i.e. Cutler, Schaub, Ryan, McNabb) that would help your team. May be even look at Hasselbeck. Sea isn't very good (they'll be behind a lot) and their rb's are below average. You could package one of your back-up rb's (Benson/McFad) and back up wr (Hixon/Moore) and Garrard for Cutler/Schaub/Ryan/McNabb and a couple of throw ins. You could even trade a back up rb or wr for hasselbeck.

Not a bad team, but I think you'll struggle without a qb who has a chance every week to put up 2-3 td's and 250 yds (which garrard doesn't). You know that one of your top four will under perform almost every week. If the other three have average games, you'll need your qb to pick up the slack.

I love the RB and WR depth and quality like everybody else, but QB really is kind of glaring. Even if Garrard does play like a Top-10 QB, he'll probably rank around the lowest of the rostered QBs in the league, putting you at a positional disadvantage. Either play match-ups off the FA, or look to trade one of your plentiful back-ups for a decent QB.

This league was full of inexperienced owners. Brady, Brees, Manning, Rodgers, McNabb, Rivers, and Warner were all taken in the first 2 rounds. The only potential starters left on the waiver wire are Shaun Hill and JaMarcus Russell. There are currently 34 QBs on teams including names like Garcia, Vick, and Culpepper. Obviously QBs were grossly overvalued in this league.
