Andre Johnson for B.Edwards,D.Driver,&R.Rice?

I'm in a 10-team, 14 player league. We start 1 QB, WR, RB, W/T, W/R, K, and Def.

QB-Drew Brees, Matt Cassel
RB-Derrick Ward, Joseph Addai, Marshawn Lynch,
WR-Andre Johnson, Dwayne Bowe, Dominique Hixon, Josh Morgan, Chris Henry
TE-Brent Celek
K-Garrett Hartley
Def-Green Bay

What do you guys think of this deal? I am gaining depth while losing one of the top receivers in the league. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I say do it. Normally I do not like to trade starting value for depth but I think in this case you need the RB depth enough to start the season to trade for this. . PPR or not I think either way I'd still make that trade. You will need Rice having Lynch on your team. Edwards is in a contract year so I expect a better performance out of him for sure this year. Driver is also a good #3.

Not a huge fan of your RBs and I don't think R Rice would improve your team all that much (especially losing AJ). I think you have enough WRs to keep your team in the hunt as well as the best (prior to the season beginning) QB. I say wait it out and see how your team stacks up the first couple weeks.

It is not a bad deal but I would hate to give up AJ. If anything I think I would try to trade Bowe and a RB for a better RB.

Also your kicker is suspended for the first 4 games if I recall correctly.

Yeah, I agree here. Tough to give up AJ. You really need to shore up your RB situation first
