Do I need to make a move for a WR?

Postby Triplec223 » Wed Sep 02, 2009 8:04 am

I'm kind of dissapointed with my WR situation heading into week 1. I feel pretty solid elsewhere, but I'm running Dwayne Bowe out there as my #1, Eddie Royal as my #2 and Lavaraneus Coles as my #3. I also have Chris Henry as a high-upside guy and Ted Ginn, Jr. as my #5.

Again, that group doesn't excite me, so I feel like I need to make a move for a top-10 guy (preferably Roddy White or Greg Jennings). I'm thinking of packaging Ray Rice and Chris Henry for somebody in that tier, but I'm not sure if it's enough.

Should I even try to make a move before the season starts? Here is my league info and roster:

12-team H2H Redraft League
Pass TD = 4 pts
25 pass yds = 1 pt
Rush/Rec TD = 6 pts
10 rush/rec yds = 1 pt

Matt Hasselbeck

WR
Dwayne Bowe
Eddie Royal
Lavaraneus Coles

Chris Henry
Ted Ginn, Jr.

RB
Steven Jackson
Steve Slaton

It's not enough. You can wait for the season to begin to see if Rice's value goes up, or you can package McFadden with Henry (no guarantee it gets accepted, but at least there's some chance).

I'm in the same situation, pairing Coles with Henry for my last wideout spot in one league. (An auction league -- I was aiming for Gonzalez, but someone had a TON of money left at the end and decided Gonzalez was the guy he wanted.) It sucks, but rather than gut another starting spot to get someone reliable, I'm going to just wait and see how the season starts.
