12-Team PPR League.. Rate my team, WHIR!

Postby thejusman1 » Wed Sep 02, 2009 10:30 am

My second season in this league... I moved on with Forte and Steven Jackson (keep two).

Here's my roster:

QB - Jay Cutler
WR - Marques Colston
WR- Braylon Edwards
WR - Desean Jackson
RB - Matt Forte
RB - Steven Jackson
TE - Zach Miller
K - Neil Rackers
DEF - Philadelphia
BN - Julius Jones (RB)
BN - LeSean McCoy (RB)
BN - Nate Burleson (WR)
BN - Earl Bennett (WR)
BN - Robert Meachem (WR)
BN - Bernard Scott (RB)

I'm still pretty inexperienced with Fantasy Football, so tell me if these guys undrafted are worth anything and if I should make some changes:

Heath Miller (TE)
Anthony Fasano (TE)
Vernon Davis (TE)
Tony Scheffler (TE)
Justin Gage (WR)
Jerious Norwood (RB)
Patrick Clayton (WR)
Devery Henderson (WR)
Joey Galloway (WR)
Michael Bush (RB)
Davone Bess (WR)
Bobby Engram (WR)

I think Cutler is gonna have a good season. He looked pretty good in the preseason game and so did Forte. I made a trade for Forte last season and he didn't disappoint. Who do you have in mind for a 2nd QB for Cutler's bye week? Or are you just gonna cross that bridge when you get there?

You have one of the better TE's. At least better than the other options like Fasano or Scheffler.

You top two RBs look good. Bernard Scott may or may not see too much action with Benson running. If Fargus or McFadden go down, Michael Bush is also someone worth monitoring.

Your top WRs look good too. Might need some better 4th and 5th options?

I'm pretty inexperiecd with Fantasy Football too, but it looks like you drafted fairly well IMO.

I think your team looks pretty strong too. I really like your 1-2 RB punch. You consider picking up any of their backups for security or does someone else have them?

I agree the only thing you may think about picking up should be the handcuffs for your starting rbs. Otherwise it look pretty good. Thanks for mine.

QB - think Cutler is going to have a pretty disapointing season GRADE C-
RB - as long as Jackson stay's healthy you might have one of the best starting Duo's in the league. depth is a little sketchy but there's a good chance either McCoy or Scott bust out. b]GRADE A-[/b]
WR - Colston is a low end #1 but i'm not a fan of Braylon as a #2. Jackson is a nice #2 though. decent depth with Bennett and Burleson but i'd rather have someone more reliable. b]GRADE B-[/b]
TE - Miller is a lower tier TE b]GRADE C+[/b]
OVERALL - if Jackson stays healthy you might have an outside shot at the playoffs but if he goes down you're in trouble. b]GRADE B-[/b]

Should I try to move RB/WR depth and improve at QB/TE? What are good guys to target who will out-perform their ADP?

Thanks for commenting on my team.

I can't really understand why so many teams are going with the 1QB thing; I'd hate to be stuck with the 20th+ ranked qb as my second option. Especially with a guy like Cutler who just went to a much crappier team, you never know what's going to happen to him. Your 3 starting WRs are as solid as they come, and there's good WR4 depth (any one of those could be plugged in and get you 70 yards). The starting RBs are ridiculous; how the hell did you get SJax AND Forte?? Julius Jones looks like he'll get the lion's share of carries and will serve well as a backup/bye plug, though the use of Edge in GL situations might hurt if you need him for a prolonged amount of time. I'm not so sure about the depth behind him... McCoy's overrated, and even if westbrook goes down he'll still be splitting touches, limiting his upside. Yes, Scott supposedly beat out Leonard for the Bengal's #2 spot (i.e., he'll play if Benson's injured), but does that really mean he gets the 3rd downs?

This is all opinion anyway, but it looks like your team is pretty good, especially if Cutler doesn't have a big drop in production. Edwards should bounce back and if Colston stays healthy you should be in good shape at WR.

Overall, B.
