Tom Brady & team # 2... WHIR

12 team redraft; QB/WR/WR/RB/RB/Flex/TE/K/D. Standard scoring w/ yardage bonuses.

I HATE taking a QB early, debated taking Randy Moss @ 5. Initially, I thought I killed myself w/ the Brady pick.

I had the 5th pick (and as I said, really debated Moss there) rolled w/ LT. Brady fell to me at 2.08 (20th overall), I think I jumped the gun when I grabbed him. Was really happy w/ the way rounds 4-8 went & the WR corps I salvaged. I see lots of upside here, am I nuts?

1.05 (5) L. Tomlinson RB SD
2.08 (20) T. Brady QB NE
3.05 (29) R. Brown RB MIA
4.08 (44) C. Ochocinco WR CIN
5.05 (53) R. Williams WR DAL
6.08 (68) R. Bush RB NO
7.05 (77) A. Gonzalez WR IND
8.08 (92) L. Moore WR NO
9.05 (101) O. Daniels TE HOU
10.08 (116) Schaub QB HOU
11.05 (125) Vikings MIN D/SP
12.08 (140) Gostkowski K NE
13.05 (149) J. Davis RB CLE
14.08 (164) B. Scott RB CIN
15.05 (173) S. Morris RB NE

Projected starters:

QB Brady
WR Ochocinco
WR Williams
RB Tomlinson
RB Brown
Flex Bush, Gonzalez, Moore (or I get lucky and 1 of the 3 other running backs gets athe gig eventually)
TE Daniels
K Gostkowski

I hate the Brady pick in the 2nd round. I have Brady on one of my teams but I was able to get him in the 4th round of a 12-team PPR league. That is getting good value at QB, not taking him in the 2nd round. Of course, I don't know who you had to choose from so I can't make too harsh of a judgment here. I like Ronnie Brown in the 3rd. If he was available in the 3rd, then I have to think you could have gotten a good 2nd tier RB with your 2nd round pick. Just saying. I like your 4th thru 7th round picks. I'm not sold on Lance Moore because I think he could be the odd man out this season. The Saints just have too many options to throw to and only one football to work with. I like Daniels as your TE and I think getting Schaub in the 10th is great value (if you had gotten a RB in the 2nd round, you could have used Schaub as your starting QB and you would be better off than having Brady and a so so RB lineup). The rest of your team is just filling the remaining starting slots. I love the James Davis pick. He could pan out for you. Overall, this is a pretty good team but you will have to hope Brady is back to his pre-injury production and LT has one more year left in the tank. That might be a lot to hope for. It this doesn't happen, you will need a lot of luck to succeed with this team.

Believe me, so did I (hate the Brady pick). 11 RB went off the board in the 1st (14 in the first 19 picks). The big 4 WR were gone (Moss, Megatron, Fitz, and AJ). I was hoping to land Moss (extreme long shot), Megatron, Andre, Slaton, CJ4.24, or Westbrook @ 20 - none were there (Megatron was closest - he went 18).

Brady was sitting there so was Smith, Jennings, Wayne, Boldin, Colston, and White. I knew Brady would be gone & I thought at least 1 of those WR would make it back to me at 29 (3.05) - I was wrong, so Ronnie Brown was the no-brainer IMO in that spot.

Went WR heavy w/ my next 5 picks - and all-in-all, I'm happy w/ the 4 I landed (and Reggie could be huge in the flex)

Ok, I'm a Pats fan and couldnt be more psyched that Brady's back, and in both my 14 Team and 10 Teamer Brady went in the 1st Rd (Typical for Drafts around here). Tom Brady is and will be a top 5 QB this year. I'm assuming you get 6 pts for Pass TD's. Don't get down on Brady, he's a beast and will win you weeks. Brady/Moss will forever live in the 2000 decade highlight reels.

LT 5 is solid and will anchor your RB's.. (he went 5 in my 10 Teamer). But I gotta hate on Ronnie Brown. If Grant or Kevin Smith was there then shame shame... if not, then he was probably the best available but if i'm you i'm not psyched. Especially cuz your Flex potential is weak... Bush will lose time to Pierre Thomas and is always injured. Too big of a ? for my taste at a starting position on my roster. If he was your 4th, i'd say cool...

WR's. - ?s at starting - Roy Williams - If he starts hot...trade his ass.. Same w/ Ocho. Dont buy into any early season success with these guys cuz it's gunna only get harder and as these teams start falling in the rankings they're gunna start to implode. Gonzalez, Moore provide good depth but again, not psyched about starting them at Flex. I'd say Gonzalez gets the nod over Moore here.

TE - Daniels - a safe and solid pick here.

Im looking at your team and just dont see any ELITE players after LT and Brady. Too many Questions and not enough guys you can count on to put up big #'s each week.

If this were a keeper i'd say you got some potential in your Davis/Scott but it's not. Hold onto them anyways because you need something to happen in order you to get lucky and have some of your BN guys pop into the starting role and help your team out. I hate to be pessimistc but im just trying to be as realistic as possible with the knowledge i have.

If you were in NE you could trade brady for just about anyone besides the top 4 RB's.

What i would do is try to trade Brady for a Solid Flex (Again, Grant/Smith/Slaton are all good targets annd their backup QB and roll w/ Schaub as your boy. Risky, but i think it makes your team better..

good luck bro and thanks for your help w/ mine!

I don't hate the Brady pick at all. I'm never one to own one of the top QB, because I just wont take them that high, but you already got a RB1, and I have no problems with Brady going next (especially if 6 points per td pass). Of course that did affect the rest of you team.

QB Brady -(Love, nothing more to say)

RB I wouldn't be too pleased. LT should be good/great, but lots of questions after that. I'm in complete limbo on Brown. I have no idea what to expect. One thing I do like is Davis in round 13. Should be starting by week 4, if not sooner. Bush, well, another one that could be huge, or the same old semi-disappointing player. I'm okay with him as flex, but would hate to have him slotted in my #2.

WR A couple that have produced before, and one that should break out. If Palmer stays upright, I love Ochocinco this year. Williams should be a great #2. Really love Gonzalez this year, and I can imagine him sneaking into the #2 spot before the year is done.

TE/K/DEF All systems go here. Nothing to hate or be concerned with.

Overall, I think you have a lot of guys that have done it before, and a few potential breakouts. Personally, I'd be hoping Schaub has a great first few weeks, and flip him (+ another) for an upgrade at RB or WR.

Thanks for help on mine:

Your WRs look very good. You don't have a clear cut #1, but you have 3 #2 WRs and Moore who could pay dividends.

I couldn't force myself to take Bush - too many injuries. And I see that as the biggest flaw in this team. No depth at RB. Your last 3 picks could all be waiver wire fodder by Week 3. Given that, keep a close eye on them and the waiver wire.

I think your team turned out pretty strong, assuming LT produces the way a lot of people are saying he will (I'm not sold, personally). Brown is a fantastic RB2. You have serviceable lower tier WR1/2s in Chad and Roy, and I think Moore on the bench will be a big factor, as I can see him contributing significantly. TE and Defense are solid. James Davis will be a nice sleeper, as I think a lot of folks are giving him good odds to be the starter before the year's end. Your team seems well balanced and competitive. Though I would try and see if you can get Sproles somehow as insurance. LT is a "Must Handcuff" IMO and Bush has already had a little swelling in his knee. So you could be one injury away from desperation in the RB department.

1.05 (5) L. Tomlinson RB SD
2.08 (20) T. Brady QB NE
3.05 (29) R. Brown RB MIA
4.08 (44) C. Ochocinco WR CIN
5.05 (53) R. Williams WR DAL
6.08 (68) R. Bush RB NO
7.05 (77) A. Gonzalez WR IND
8.08 (92) L. Moore WR NO
9.05 (101) O. Daniels TE HOU
10.08 (116) Schaub QB HOU
11.05 (125) Vikings MIN D/SP
12.08 (140) Gostkowski K NE
13.05 (149) J. Davis RB CLE
14.08 (164) B. Scott RB CIN
15.05 (173) S. Morris RB NE

Projected starters:

QB Brady
WR Ochocinco
WR Williams
RB Tomlinson
RB Brown
Flex Bush, Gonzalez, Moore (or I get lucky and 1 of the 3 other running backs gets athe gig eventually)
TE Daniels
K Gostkowski

For a 12 man team, i think your team is awesome. Brady and Brees have been going in the first round of most drafts i've seen, so I don't think that Brady in 2nd is that bad at all. Your RBs are awesome, your QB is top 5 and your WRs are good. I personally think that 85 will be a great WR again this year. Palmer is healthy, 85 isn't being the psycopath that he once was, should be a good year for him. Overall, for a 12 team league, I think your team definitely makes the playoffs.
