McCoy or Brown

Postby edanono » Fri Sep 04, 2009 9:19 am

Who is seen better now. I have McCoy, Brown is available. I either drop him, Nicks, or A Bryant. Any thoughts?

Also thinking of offering PThomas for R Rice. Have a man-crush on him this year. Would I be overpaying?

Thanks,

They just went 2 and 3 in my dynasty draft. I would go with McCoy but I see such a minute drop off between both.
I would keep Thomas. Rice is good, I like him to . But Mcgahee is still there even if he is headed out. Thomass' role is defined. He is in a good offense that does throw a lot but man, the TD's are there for the taking.

I think Rice has the higher upside...plus Thomas is already banged up.

I think McCoy will be the better player between him and Brown IMO.

Unless I've missed something, McCoy has shown zero ability to gain yards on the ground in the NFL.

McCoy has carried the ball 29 times for a paltry 97 yards. That comes out to 3.3 yards per carry.

Brown has carried the ball 13 times for 79 yards. That comes to 6.1 yards per carry.

Now, I know it's the preseason, but that makes me worry even more. McCoy can't do any better than 3.3ypc in the preseason?!?!

McCoy is very "thinly" built and unless you have Chris Johnson speed, that doesn't translate very well to the NFL.

I would go with McCoy here.....better reception rate as well!

I would also keep Pierre (although he is already hurt he should be fine for week 1 and he is the legit starter. Rice has also been named the starter and I like him very much as well but he does have McGahee still in the mix and McClain even being the fullback will take some reps as well.

Good Luck!

3.3 may not be solid at this point but remember their o-line is still gelling after making some huge additions plus he will play the Westbrook role in that offense for at least a few weeks this season when Westbrook gets banged up. Huge upside with McCoy so I would go with him as a back up rb right now. If you need someone to plug in the first couple of weeks though I would go with Brown cause he's already guaranteed carries. Drop Nicks out of those two at this point cause at least you know Bryant will be a starter and productive. Getting Rice for Thomas may not be as bad of a move as it seems, Thomas is already banged up and seems like their may be 3 hands getting carries in NO right now. I like it, especially if it is a ppr league cause Flacco seems to like that check down to Rice when no one else is open.

Colts GM Bill Polian's 1st round draft picks include Peyton Manning, Edgerrin James, Reggie Wayne, Dwight Freeney, Dallas Clark, Anthony Gonzalez and now, Donald Brown.

If any of you know talent better than him, please let us all know. :-b

Until then, I'm gonna trust his judgement above any of yours.

Donald Brown.
