Get on board the Davis hype train? Pick up Delhomme? WHIR!

Postby thejusman1 » Fri Sep 04, 2009 11:26 am

This is year #2 of a keeper league... I moved on with Forte and Steven Jackson (keep any two players for up to 4 years).

12 Team H2H .5PPR League.

QB - Jay Cutler
WR - Marques Colston
WR- Braylon Edwards
WR - Desean Jackson
RB - Matt Forte
RB - Steven Jackson
TE - Zach Miller
K - Neil Rackers
DEF - Philadelphia
BN - Julius Jones (RB)
BN - LeSean McCoy (RB)
BN - Nate Burleson (WR)
BN - Earl Bennett (WR)
BN - Robert Meachem (WR)
BN - Bernard Scott (RB)

Delhomme recently got dropped for Michael Vick, I think the owner was just trying to be funny. I noticed Cutler's bye week is in Week 5, which is pretty early, and most owners have back-up QBs. Should I grab Delhomme as a back-up, and who would I drop? Shaun Hill, Bulger, and Kerry Collins are also FAs.

Should I get on board the James Davis hype-train, or do I already have enough sleeper RBs (Bernard Scott, LeSean McCoy). Who would I drop for any of these moves, or should I just sit on my draft and see how they all play out for a few weeks?

I would drop Meachem for Delhomme and B.Scott for Davis!

I agree that you should pick up Davis. I think his hype is legit, and I think dropping Scott for him would be worth it.

I 100% agree with this. Meachem's pretty much buried behind Colston, Moore, Henderson and Delhomme is a good backup for Cutler imo.

Thanks for the help on my Davis question ;-D

I really want to drop Julius Jones here and hang onto Bernard. Is that just dumb?

I drop Meacham for Davis. You can get a bye week QB when the time comes. And Scott and even Jones have higher ceilings than Meacham in my eyes.

I dropped Scott and replaced him with Davis. With all these rumors swirling around that Jamal Lewis could get outright cut from the roster, Davis simply has more chances of getting touches. Benson isn't nearly as ready to break down as Lewis is. I hear what people are saying about Meachem and being buried in the depth chart, but this is his third year and I have a feeling he'll take a big step forward this year. Besides, I think my RBs are more solid (forte and sjax) than my WRs (Colston/Braylon have question-marks), so I'm praying at least one guy out of Bennett/Meachem/Burleson can step up and play as my WR4.
