I am really thinking about this trade, earlier it was Ward and Welker for McNabb, but now he has thrown in Sproles. This is not a PPR league. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 flex RB/WR, 1 TE, 1 D/ST, and 1 K. Do you like my roster better before or after the trade?
Before
QB-Brett Favre, Matt Cassel
RB-Jones-Drew, Marion Barber, Thomas Jones, Derrick Ward, LeSean McCoy, James Davis, Shonn Greene
WR-Wes Welker, Chad Ochocinco, Bernard Berrian, Derrick Mason
TE-Greg Olsen
D/ST-New England Patriots
K-Nick Folk
After
QB-Donovan McNabb, Brett Favre, Matt Cassel
RB-Jones-Drew, Marion Barber, Thomas Jones, LeSean McCoy, James Davis, Darren Sproles, Shonn Greene
WR-Chad Ochocinco, Bernard Berrian, Derrick Mason
TE-Greg Olsen
D/ST-New England Patriots
K-Nick Folk
I think that trading for McNabb stabilizes my QB situation, and I think McNabb could have a breakout year. I am no longer very high on Ward because of the RB committee he will be a part of in Tampa, so I would really like to trade him. Although after I get rid of him, I don't know if I will have a great guy to play in the flex spot anymore, but I believe Davis could emerge as a good option, as could Sproles or McCoy...
Many say that trading Welker isn't a good idea because he is consistant, but Derrick Mason brings
virtually the same consistancy to my team.. Not that Mason is Welker by any means, but they put up the same fantasy numbers in ESPN leagues last year. The only other concern I have after the trade is that I will only have 3 WR, but I could drop somebody to pick up Kevin Curtis/Jeremy Maclin, Chris Henry, or Earl Bennett if I have to...
So what do you guys think?
