Trade for Aaron Rodgers

Postby jackattack » Fri Sep 04, 2009 5:17 pm

I'm looking to grab Rodgers and I'm not sure if I'm trying too hard. Here's the deal I can make:

I get: Aaron Rodgers, Willis McGahee
I give: Randy Moss, LaDainian Tomlinson

Am I over-valuing Rodgers? Is the deal worth it if I get Thomas Jones instead of McGahee?

Just want some opinions. Thanks in advance.

My Roster:
QB - Matt Schaub, Matt Cassel
WR - Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Domenik Hixon, Percy Harvin, Jeremy Maclin
RB - LaDainian Tomlinson, Ryan Grant, Larry Johnson, Tim Hightower, Laurence Maroney
TE - Kellen Winslow, Brent Celek
K - Adam Vinatieri
DEF - San Diego

Assuming standard Yahoo scoring, I'd stay put.

I think most people would pick Moss over Rodgers straight up. if you throw in LT for McGahee, I don't think the trade is fair for you.

Also, you have two decent QBs. One of the two should pan out.

Forgot, yeah, standard Yahoo Scoring (for the most part). No points for completions, receptions or carries.

thats way too much to pay for Rodgers.

Aaron will be a stud, but your talking about trading a top 4 WR and top 6-7 RB bare minimum for a potential top 5 QB and a junk RB. This is a definite no go for me.

With that being said tho you have Schaub who if healthy could potentially be a top 6-7 QB, but i would like to see a more reliable backup especially with Cassel hurt. What is available on your FA list for QBs?

I would pick up Delhomme and look to trade Welker for someone so you dont have 2 Pats in ur WR corp...maybe someone like a boldin/roddy white/desean jackson

dang ok.

Well what i would try then is one of these:

Package A: Cassel/Hightower
or
Package B: Cassel/Havrin
or
Package C: Cassel/Celek

for a QB like Hasselbeck (that would a sweet addition if the other owner goes for it), Eli, Ryan, Delhomme or Orton

i know a couple of those might be a stretch, but check the teams and whichever of those is a backup go after.

Thanks again for the replies. I picked up Delhomme (FA) and dropped Cassel. Trading Welker is a good idea to save me during the bye week. I'll see what I can do.
