I drafted in position 5. WR started flying off the board early (Fitz went at #4 overall). I found RBs falling in my lap. Of couse my WR are weak, but not unreasonable.
What do people think? I can start 3 RB, so I saw no reason not to grab Brandon Jacobs in the third, even though Steve Smith, OchoCinqo and Boldin were still there. I think I did ok with Bowe and Marshall/Evans
Here is my roster (Round in parentheses). 10-Team PPR (1QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, Flex, K, DST) QB: McNabb (7) RB: Turner (1), Gore (2), Jacobs (3) WR: Bowe (4), B. Marshall (5) TE: Cooley (10) K: Elam (15) DST: Titans (12) BN: Evans (6), E. Graham (8), K. Walter (9), J. Norwood (11), J. Fargas (13), J. Carlson (14)
i don't particularly like your team in the ppr format. turner caught a total of 6 passes last season, so he is at such a disadvantage compared to backs like forte, westbrook, sjax, lt, and mjd who catch a lot of balls. the same goes for jacobs. i would've definitely taken steve smith or boldin in the 3rd over him. i think bowe will be alright, but the uncertainly of marshall as your other receiver scares me.

QB: McNabb (7) - Great value for where you got him. He'll definitely be top5-10 in my book. RB: Turner (1), Gore (2), Jacobs (3) PPR or no, you have 3 quality guys you can coun't on there. Gore will also catch plenty of passes. WR: Bowe (4), B. Marshall (5) You probably won't be playing Marshall until later, but Walter will shine in PPR, and Evans could finally play to his potential with Owens drawing attention. TE: Cooley (10) Cooley and Carlson are a solid Tandem. I have a sneaky feeling you'll be playing Carlson a lot his year. K: Elam (15) - meh, kicker DST: Titans (12) Top 5 D right there. BN: Evans (6), E. Graham (8), K. Walter (9), J. Norwood (11), J. Fargas (13), J. Carlson (14)[/quote]
Overall a pretty sold team. No real weaknesses. We won't really know until the season starts, but it looks like a well-rounded squad from here.
I'm not particularly high on your receivers. I see you went 3 RBs in a row which is always going to affect the rest of your squad. Can you start all 3 of your backs? That would be the only saving grace for you. If not, I would try to trade for a top 5 WR. If you can, you should probably be able to ride those guys and have the rest of your team get you some supplemental points. I really like your tight ends...I wanted Carlson, but at the lats minute I went with Shiancoe. I figured Favre will only be able to throw it so far by the middle of the game
You will live or die by your RBs. You're avg at QB, slightly below avg at WR, and avg at TE, K, and DEF. You have phenomenal strength at RB though. You have three RBs that are frequently going in the first round. If two out of those three dont perform on any given week, or if one goes down with a season-ending injury, you're totally screwed though. Its a high-risk, high-reward strategy.
WR are your Achilles heel. SInce you can start 3 RB's though, you might be alright. Still think you should've gone WR in round 3 though to round the team out more or drafted a RB who gets a lot of balls thrown his way. PPR really adds up.
